As. Cycling coach I’m cringing about kids looking down at a phone while riding. If they are using Strava or Garmin apps for tracking fine BUT if it’s to read chats or pick songs, they look down it’s a distraction. I’ve seen too many kids staring at phones on bikes ride straight into traffic or into trees/telephone poles. I remove these from every kids bike during my bike safety classes. Unless the app is a map and it’s on hands free mode, the phone goes in a back pocket. On E-bikes all the more bc of the increased torque and braking. Stay safe out there.
