First, I really like the black stainless steel. It goes perfectly with my black appliances. It holds more than the can it replaced so we are able to go three or four days before it needs to be emptied. There is a ring that holds your bag in so it never falls into the can and has a removable bottom plate should it need a good cleaning. I gave it four stars only because sometimes the thing is stubborn about opening.
Still, it is nice that it is motion sensing and if your hands are dirty you don’t have to touch it. Lastly, I love the fact that it takes up so little room in my little kitchen yet holds so much.
Does anyone have a dog with this? Does it allow dog nose to open? Thanks 🙂
I have one and yes a dog can open it. I have a Great Dane who can, but she does not. She’s very mild-mannered. I have heard of other dogs opening them on purpose. I think it will be up to your dog’s temperment.
If you have a dog that tends to bother your trash, this is probably NOT the can you want. I say that with the experience of 5 dogs. Now, I have 3 of those mild mannered dogs that just don’t care about the trash. But, I have 1 little 23 lb. beagle that just loves food and checks the top for paper plates all the time and 1 15 lb. rescue that is a super surfer that will knock the whole thing over. That said, I’m in the market for another can and I was hoping this was a locking/pet proof one but it isn’t. I can tell you my little dogs that like trash hunting would be in this all the time. Hope that helps.
