The light side is cooling and the dark side is heating. It’s best to use it right on your skin to work with your body temperature. As crazy as it sounds, this is the best purchase I’ve ever made for him! It really does work! I’ve since boughten a second one for him for when he stays away from home. It’s easy and lightweight to take with him.
