Take the pressure off and pay one less bill next school year!

T-Mobile knows the important of education, which is why they launched Project 10Million which offers 10 MILLION households in the U.S. a free T-Mobile hotspot device and internet!

Students in grades K-12 who are enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or other government programs, such as Medicaid and Headstart, are automatically eligible for this amazing offer! The free hotspot will be delivered at no charge to their home, and includes a 100GB/year data line. Keep in mind you can purchase additional data passes if needed.

Better yet, eligible households will have free internet for a whopping 5 years! Plus, applying is so easy – it takes just 5 minutes and you can check your eligibility first here.

Here’s how to sign up (and no, you DON’T need to be a T-Mobile customer 🙌🏼):

  • Head here to apply as a school administrator or parent/guardian
  • Submit your school district’s information OR your child’s school information and proof of NSLP enrollment
  • Check your inbox for an acceptant letter and shipping status!

Currently, there are a couple states that have met their maximum capacity this year, including Alaska and Nevada. Other states may reach their allotment soon, so it’s best to sign up as soon as possible!

If your state isn’t open for registration, be sure to check with your student’s school district, as they may already be enrolled in this program.

Note that this program receives A LOT of applications, so those approved for the program may experience shipping delays of approximately 45-60 days.

I was hoping homeschoolers were eligible too.

    • Chantel

That’s probably why Alaska is filled up already. Here you can homeschool while enrolled in a district through a correspondence school. Homeschooling here is just another normal choice like public and private.

    • Kma

      So did I.

This is amazing! I love TMobile! I don’t qualify for this, but itmakes me proud to be a TMobile customer. And I get so many free perks, I love them already.

  3. Emily

It looks like you have to be enrolled in the National School Lunch Program, so homeschooling families are not eligible.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thank you so much for this helpful feedback, Emily! 💗

    • Sarah

If you go to the actual form, it also states other ways to be eligible. I sent in a photo of my child’s Medicaid card and it looks like they’re going to accept that.

    • Richia

My children are homeschooled all I used was the school ID number for the children and a copy of their report card to be eligible

we get free lunches here but no letter to prove it…

    • Julie

I work in the school nutrition department at my school division. Contact the school nutrition department at your school division and request a letter. They should be able to provide one.

If your eligible free lunch then you must receive SNAP benefits or medicaid which you can send proof of by an award letter from DSS for SNAP or taking a picture of his medicaid card and submitting it. Good Luck!

    This is AWESOME!

I got so excited when I read this, but it is so disappointing. After visiting the website, it shows they will only send the devices to public schools. My 3 kids could really use this, but they are in a wonderful private school thanks to state scholarships. 🙁

I sure would not trust T-Mobile. They have done nothing but screw us around and every month the payment was completely different. Then they try to hook you in so that you can’t change carriers for 2 years unless you pay a big fee. We got away from them as quickly could and went to cricket. They are wonderful!

I got charged for this! My bill has been the same for years and more than doubled as soon as I got this in the mail.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh darn! So sorry to hear about that. Were you able to call in to customer service to look into that for you? Hoping they may be able to help! 💞

      • Camsmom

The lady on the customer service lines keeps saying “it charged for equipment for the iPhones” I told her I’ve had these same exact phones for 9 months why would I all of a sudden be charged anything different for them. It’s clearly for the internet that’s the only thing that changed. But on the bill its saying equipment charge under our iPhones. Idk what to do now because now I can’t afford my phone bill and I’m sad I will have to cut off my son’s line for nothing. just wanted to warn people. Was not worth it in my situation.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That does sound frustrating. I have T-Mobile as well. Do you by chance have a T-Mobile location you can go into near you? I wonder if speaking with someone in person may be more helpful. Hoping this gets resolved for you real soon! ❤️❤️

Do I have to have a T-Mobile plan in order for my 12-year-old to get a hotspot in Aurora colorado? If not, I’m having issues with not being able to verify my zip code because the box at the bottom is grayed out.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Lisa! You don’t need to be a T-Mobile customer in order to take advantage of this offer! There are a couple states that have met their maximum capacity this year, but not sure if it would include Colorado! If your state isn’t open for registration, be sure to check with your student’s school district, as they may already be enrolled in this program. I also found their customer service number: 1-800-T-MOBILE, that you might try calling. Hoping this is helpful! 💕

Thanks! I’ll reach out to my son’s school before calling customer service. Have a great weekend!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

      You’re welcome! You too! 🥰

  11. Vanessa J

It’s Amazing! I got my daughters in 2 days in California! THANK YOU T MOBILE SO MUCH!!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

WOOHOO! That’s so awesome, Vanessa J! So happy you were able to snag this deal for them! 🥰

  12. Catherine Richard

How long should the Wi-Fi take to come in the mail.? It says 30-60 days.?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Catherine. I just checked on this for you and found this on their site – “Since so many people have signed up for Project 10Million, those approved for the program may experience shipping delays of approximately 45-60 days.” Hoping that’s helpful!

  13. Vanesa Garcia

Hello, are we able to purchase more data if we use all the 100GB for our WiFi ?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! You can purchase additional data passes if needed.❤️

      • Vanesa Garcia

Awesome! Where can I purchase? 😌

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

I’m not finding the specific details on how to purchase the additional passes. I did find their customer service number if you wanted to reach out – 1-800-T-MOBILE Hope this is helpful! 🥰
