If you’ve been interested in a Costco membership, now is the time to sign up! In an article posted on July 10th, Costco confirmed that its membership fees will increase effective September 1, 2024 – this is the first price hike since 2017.
The annual membership fees will increase by $5 for United States and Canada Gold Star members making the annual fee $65. Also effective September 1, annual fees for Executive Memberships will increase from $120 to $130 and the maximum annual 2% Reward associated with the Executive Membership will increase from $1,000 to $1,250.

Hey Bekah! It seems that the free shipping can vary and really just depend on the item. Many times the free shipping is worked into the price. Some items do have an added shipping charge. ❤️

Samantha, I personally don’t think so. Amazon S&S covers just about everything you could want/need for verrrry similar, often better, prices. We went back and forth between Sam’s and Costco for several years and I spent some time analyzing and comparing the items we bought most often (for us, that’s lunch items for kids and a blue collar husband, and household items like trash bags and TP). Over 90% of the items were the same price or better from Amazon, plus of course always shipped directly to me. When I factored in the fact that there was no impulse spending by wandering the aisles or grabbing a coffee or soda, Amazon definitely won.

Great question, sere! It looks like you may not be eligible as an additional household member. Here’s what I spotted in the fine print on Groupon for this offer – “Valid only for new members and those whose previous memberships (Primary and Household) have been expired for at least 18 months or more.” Darn!
I have the executive membership for many years now. With this membership you get 2% cash back on every purchase. The check comes with the annual membership renewal fee. I use the check every year and pay the membership fee. I have never paid the membership fee out of pocket. As long as you spend roughly about $300 a month at Costco the membership fee will be free if you use your cash back check to pay for the membership.
