Struggling with what to ask for this Christmas? We’re noticing a trend the older we get, the more difficult it is to think of things we actually want for Christmas. Here’s what a Hip reader recently wrote in and said:

“Hi! I just had a fun idea. What are all of YOU at Hip2Save asking Santa for? My boyfriend and my mom keep asking what I want and it’s actually a really hard question. LOL! I’m so used to buying for my kids and everyone else. I actually googled Christmas ideas for 40-year-old women. It would be fun to see what is on your wish list this year to help me!”  – Debbie

Here’s what our Hip team is asking for this Christmas!

1. Emily and her fiancé are asking for a sound bar for their living room. 

Emily and her fiancé are big on hosting friends and family especially when it comes to football games. She said a sound bar is on the top of their wish list as it will really elevate their experience for games and movie nights and cuddling up on the couch.

She loves this soundbar because it’s universal and she said it’s the same brand her brother has for surround sound in his basement which sounds simply amazing.

2. Madison said an Ember mug will be her biggest life upgrade yet.

Anyone who is forgetful of their coffee and often heats it in the microwave will tell you just how life-changing this Ember mug will be. Madison wouldn’t necessarily spend over $100 on a heated coffee mug for herself, but it’s definitely her most wished-for item this year.

The white color is currently the cheapest price at just $109.99 but may arrive after Christmas. That said, you can scoop up every other color for slightly more and still get it on time for the holidays.

3. Jenna is asking for a sleek Skylight calendar to manage her family’s busy schedule. 

Jenna shared that two of her kids are too young for phones and her husband isn’t ready to swap out his Android for an iPhone, so it’s really hard to get all 5 of their schedules synced up and in one location.

Although this is not the most affordable calendar on the market, Jenna said having this master calendar, chore chart, and meal schedule all in one central location would be life-changing. And well…it’s beautiful too. With the addition of a monthly plan, you’ll be able to turn it into a photo frame and use the convenient magic import to sync events you already have on your calendar.

Honestly, she already has me convinced I need one too!

4. Lina is asking for the trendy perfume everyone keeps raving about.

Lucky for Lina, She said she saw Santa already grabbed this perfume and it’s just waiting to be wrapped. 🤣 She can’t wait to try it after hearing so many of our Hip sidekicks raving about it. It’s known as the “perfume of happiness”, so if you need some of that in your life, this may be at the top of your wishlist too.

5. Alli asked for some fancy copper mugs. 

Alli has already treated herself to quite a few different new drinkware sets so it felt a little bougie to buy herself some new copper mugs too. She said her current set is chipping so she asked her mother-in-law for this nicer site on Amazon. Each cup comes with a matching copper straw and the set even comes with a copper stirrer and matching copper beer opener too.

6. Rachel is asking for a portable monitor so she can split her multiple tabs into two convenient screens. 

Rachel admitted that she is notoriously known as a “Tab Queen” and having this portable monitor would allow her to conveniently split her screen into two and manage all her open tabs more easily. She loves this option because it’s compatible with so many different devices including her mobile device, an Xbox, PS 3/4/5, and even a Nintendo Switch.

Our Hip sidekick, Trish, also has a portable monitor on her list since she’s so used to two screens in her office:

“I have to second what Rachel said! I’ve been wanting a portable monitor too just because in my office I have a second monitor and I’m so used to working with multiple screens. Having one will allow me to easily work from another room in my house or when I’m visiting my older kids.” – Trish, Hip sidekick

7. Erica’s top wished-for item every year is a planner and the one she’s asking for is under $5.

Erica likes to stay organized for the upcoming year so a quality planner is always at the top of her list. This one on Amazon is just under $5 and is the same brand she used this past year. Erica said it’s crucial for her to have a calendar that sits in the main area of her home so she can write down the family duties! She said each day in this planner is large enough that her whole family has space to write down everything they need to do. Needless to say, they’d all be LOST without it!

8. Amber will be asking for earbuds so she can scroll freely (and quietly) next to her husband on the couch. 

Who else loves to scroll their phone or read next to their partner while they watch a football game or TV show you have zero interest in? 🙋🏼‍♀️ We know this is relatable to so many people, so we especially love Amber’s genius gift idea! Although Amber already has earbuds, she said hers are currently glitching so she doesn’t expect her current electronics to last for long.

She’s hoping to upgrade to this Anker set and said a shiny new Amazon Fire 8 Tablet would be the icing on the cake. Happy wife, happy life, right? 😉

9. Erika would love the latest Apple Watch series to replace her old glitchy one. 

Erika said she’s still sporting an Apple Watch Series 5 which is starting to chip and would love to replace it with the latest one on the market. She said it’s not typically something she would go out and buy for herself so it makes the perfect gift idea for her boyfriend. 😉

Our Hip sidekick, Melinda, chimed in and said she would love a newer Apple Watch Series too:

“I second the Apple Watch! Even if it’s not new, I’d just love a better version. Mine is really old and starting to do weird things. Sometimes the screen gets messed up and I need to restart it and it’s so inconvenient, but I doubt I’ll buy myself one any time soon!” – Melinda

10. Bryn said she would love to gift herself some luxury bedding. 

Bryn shared that she has yet to find a hotel-like, luxury duvet and a duvet cover that she is in love with. She is often struggling with duvets that slip around and bunch up over time. While she doesn’t have a particular brand in mind, I did share the luxury bedding that I’ve been testing for many months. And the zip-up duvet cover just so happens to be my favorite. 😉

11. Angie and I are asking for an under-the-desk walking pad. 

Angie saw many different walking pads go on sale during Amazon Prime Day, but still couldn’t justify the cost for herself so she’d love to receive one as a gift! A walking pad is an innovative way to get in your steps while working from home. They can slide under your bed or couch when you’re not using them, and they conveniently can be used right under your office desk or kitchen countertop.

Both she and I have been hesitant about whether or not this purchase would be worth it, but here’s what our hip sidekick Jenna said that convinced us to put it at the top of our list.

“I am OBSESSED with my under-desk treadmill! Damon got me a standing desk for my birthday and this went perfectly with it! I get my steps in even before lunch! I highly highly recommend it!” – Jenna

“I also bought a walking pad for myself for Christmas. It’s currently en route and I cannot wait for it to arrive!” – Rachel, Hip sidekick

And, our Hip sidekick, Elizabeth shared why she loves having one in case you needed any more convincing…

“I love my walking pad, I always said I would go to my apartment gym to walk during the day but I always get caught up in everything, and the next thing I know the day is over. Having the pad next to my desk makes it a lot easier to do and by the end of the day I feel a lot more energized and way less sluggish than if I just sit.” – Elizabeth

12. Angela already treated herself to a standing desk to go with the walking pad she already owns.

If you have your heart-eyes set on a walking pad then a standing desk will be the next necessity on your wish list. Since our Hip sidekick, Angela, already gifted herself a walking pad last year this standing desk was a top priority for her wish list this year. She also shared the reason she chose this desk over all the others is because the top is all one piece of wood. She said many others have two pieces where the slit goes down the middle horizontally or vertically and they aren’t nearly as sturdy.

13. Liza said she’d love a night in a hotel room to chill and come home refreshed. 

Liza isn’t asking for much, and said she’d be thrilled with a night in a hotel room! She said it doesn’t even have to be an out-of-town vacation either. Simply a night in a local hotel would suffice! She even said her family is welcome to come. 😉  Just an evening to veg in a comfy room with her fam-jam, do a little mid-winter swimming, have a nice brunch, and go home relaxed is all she needs. 🤩
