Although Lowe’s already welcomes pets inside its stores, Lowe’s + Petco locations will provide a unique experience where pet parents can shop an assortment of Petco’s pet nutrition, supplies, and services, while improving the home they share with their pets in one shopping trip.
Over the past two years, Americans have found more comfort, security, and emotional connection through their homes and pets than ever before. More than 11 million new pets joined U.S. households since the beginning of the pandemic, and a new survey recently showed that more Americans than ever are now finding their greatest comfort in their pets and in their homes.
“For many of our customers, their pets and their homes top the list of things that matter most, especially after two years spent mostly together within the same four walls. This partnership enhances the total home solution we offer them by bringing home improvement and pet care products, services, and expertise together under one roof.” – Bill Boltz, Lowe’s executive vice president of merchandising
The first Lowe’s + Petco store-in-store will open in early February at Lowe’s Alamo Ranch in Texas. Eventually, this concept will expand to 14 additional Lowe’s locations in Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina by the end of March.
Petco employees will be staffing the Lowe’s + Petco locations during peak hours to offer pet-focused guidance to customers. Petco products will be available to purchase in-store or on Lowes.com for curbside pickup, in contactless pickup lockers, or at the Lowe’s Customer Service desk at no additional cost.
Lowe’s + Petco locations are also expected to offer a selection of Petco’s services, including Vetco vaccination clinics, microchipping, prescription pest prevention, and mobile grooming at select times and locations.
