Great questions! You do not have to remove the case as long as you have a MagSafe/magnetic-compatible case. The charger is Qi2 certified and uses magnets to align the phone. AUKEY specifically indicates compatibility with magnetic phone cases. The iPhone 17 supports Qi2/MagSafe-style magnetic charging, so it is compatible with this Qi2 charger.
