The Consumer Product Safety Commission lists window blinds among the top 5 hidden hazards in homes for kids! In response, Norman USA recently discontinued window coverings with free-hanging lift & tilt cords on their window coverings in a commitment to child safety.

“Our aim is to increase awareness for parents and caregivers of the risks associated with free-hanging corded window coverings and make them aware of safer cordless alternatives. We intend to support this campaign by giving away in an excess of 10,000 shades per month, valued at more than several million dollars.” – Norman President, Ranjan Mada

I got my Norman USA window shade when this promotion first started and for a freebie, I was shocked at the awesome quality. Plus, I have a large window in my daughter’s room that I’ve put off getting a shade for because they are so expensive, and Norman USA had a size that fit the window! Now that I’ve got a 1-year old running around the house, I’m so thankful for the Norman USA shade because I don’t have to worry about him getting tangled up in the cords. – Hip2Save Sidekick, Chelsey

It says for households with children 8 and under. I have grandchildren visit. I wonder if that counts.

Did anyone else have to pay USPS for delivery fee of $7 before they would deliver it?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Rachel! You might reach out to customer service on this to see if they might be able to clarify this. In the FAQ, I’m only seeing shipments being sent via FedEx, but it could possibly depend on the shipment address. Hoping this is helpful! 🥰
