October is one of the best times to buy a plane ticket for your next trip.

Shop the very last summer clearance finds at all your favorite retailers.
Another thing to shop for this month if you can still find it on store shelves is the last of summer items! Come October, shelves will be fully stocked with all the latest fall AND winter trends so summer items will be at their rock-bottom prices. Whether you’re shopping online or in-store, you won’t want to pass up something you know you’ll need for next year unless you want to risk paying full price.

We recommend also keeping your eyes peeled on Columbus Day (October 9th) for possible sales.

Surprisingly, Halloween clearance is also a hot item to buy before the actual holiday.
It’s true, holidays at retailers come earlier and earlier every year which means they’re trying to clear their shelves earlier and earlier to make room for the next holiday. Last year, there were plenty of early Halloween clearance deals towards the second half of October. Some of our favorites were the ceramic Halloween tree for under $30, 40% OFF Target Halloween treat kits (yes, seriously!), and LEGO Halloween idea books for just $7.70. 😱
