A Planet Fitness Gym

Keep your budget & body in shape with a Planet Fitness gym membership! 💪

Through February 16th, Planet Fitness is offering new members their Classic Membership for just $1 down and $10 per month thereafter. Just head here and enter your zip code to see the list of available plans.

There’s no commitment, and you can cancel at any time. That’s an awesome savings, considering their startup fee is usually $49! Plus, the affordable Planet Fitness membership fees are one of the best values around.

Note that a bank account is required, and your monthly membership fee will be deducted on the 17th of each month. All memberships have a $49 annual fee (this is separate from the startup fee, which is now $1). You can expect to pay the first one around April 1st and each year after while your membership remains active.

Not to dampen the excitement of this deal, please be aware it is not as easy to cancel membership as they portray it. This assertion is based on prior experience with Planet Fitness.

Thank you so much for the feedback on cancelling, Happy. I did look further into this and it seems that process may vary by location. It is recommended to check with them on how they work out a cancellation. 💞

“While we hate to see you cancel your membership, our cancellation process may vary club to club, so the best first step is to contact your home location to confirm the cancellation policy. For most locations, you can visit your home club in person to cancel your membership or send written notification via mail to your home club requesting to cancel. Some members may also be eligible to cancel their membership online based on their membership type and location of their home club. If you have additional questions, please contact your home club or our Member Services department.”

Hoping that might be more helpful! 🩷🤗

It is a good deal, thank you Hip2Save. Like Happy, I wanted to say the same thing, be careful. One of my friends had a very difficult time trying to cancel her membership. She had to cancel her credit card and then somehow Planet Fitness charged the new card. Seriously? Her credit card company finally handled it for her but this went on for months. Read everything very carefully and use a prepaid card if they’ll accept that.

You’re welcome, Jennifer. Sorry to hear about the troubles your friend came across while trying to cancel. 💕 Hoping the process is more seamless for others, if they choose to not continue their membership as well. 🤞

I was actually also going to comment to say this. I canceled in person before I moved to another city (military).. after several years I learned my credit card was still being charged all that time (I didn’t look at the statements obviously). I contacted them, told them about it – told them I canceled (which obviously was true bc I told them their entire process and what I had to do/where I did it). Obviously they’re also able to tell in their system I had not been there. They still wouldn’t refund me, and were unbelievably rude about it. It was close to $800. I will always tell people not to go there..

They don’t even let you sign up with a credit card anymore. They want your bank account & routing number. It’s both a hassle and a security risk. Not worth it.

I’m seeing the bank account details for signing up mentioned in the post too, Kristen. Thanks for mentioning that. I did find these details in the FAQ on why this payment is primarily required at many locations for the membership – ‘Why do you need my checking account for a membership?

The method in which members are able to pay for their monthly membership varies by location, but many Planet Fitness clubs accept payment through checking accounts only. We require an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through checking accounts for your convenience: This allows us to be able to continue your membership without interruption or the need to update your payment information if your credit card is lost, stolen, invalid, or expired.” ❤️
