Looking for a good deal on the wide mouth canning jars if you find some. I’m not coordinated enough to use the regular ones 🙂
We’ll keep watch for that, Sue. Thanks for sharing what you’re on the hunt for! ❤️
I love learning… coming from a family who stored everything in reused cool whip and butter tubs, is plastic that says BPA FREE ok? I just purchased a plastic lunch box and water bottle from target (the $2 ones listed here on hip2save) but now I’m wondering if that’s ok/safe? Thanks for any advice!!
Hey Laura!
I love that you’re asking questions and learning—it’s such a powerful step toward healthier living. 💚 While BPA-free is definitely a step in the right direction, it’s worth noting that BPA-free doesn’t always mean chemical-free. Some plastics labeled BPA-free may still contain other compounds—like BPS or phthalates—that haven’t been studied as thoroughly but may still raise concerns. Plastic also degrades over time especially when they’re repeatedly exposed to heat, sunlight, acidic foods, or dishwashers. This wear and tear can cause micro-scratches or chemical leaching, even in BPA-free plastics. Because of that, I personally lean toward using glass, copper, or stainless steel for most of my food and drink storage whenever possible. That said, I’ve definitely used budget-friendly BPA-free items (like Stasher bags) in a pinch—especially when packing for kids or needing something lightweight and affordable. I hope this helps!
I absolutely agree with Sara. This “plastic free” stuff is pretty tricky. You have to do deep research since many companies went around it and replaced the BPA with other compounds. Even some glass (and I mean not colored glass) can contain lead. So sad how much time we have to spend digging into it to keep our life healthy…:-(. Not sure if I can mention it here, there is good website with some recent testing…https://tamararubin.com/
I love this post too! I’ve been looking for an oven style air fryer that is 100% stainless. This air fryer looks great!
