For days when you’re running short on time, the Rapid Mac Cooker can cook your box of mac & cheese in the microwave in just 5 minutes, compared to 15-20 minutes when using the stove. Just add your box of macaroni and fill the cooker with water, then place in the microwave. You don’t even have to worry about draining water when it’s done cooking!

This handy kitchen tool would be great to use in the office kitchen, for kids who want to cook their own lunch, or in dorm rooms that only allow microwaves!

Rapid Mac Cooker

This isn’t just for mac & cheese! Check out how these reviewers use theirs…

I love Ramen, it’s my lunch almost every day. I always eat fresh vegetables with my ramen. This works great for that! I put my vegetables and seasoning in the cooker. Filled with water till the line. Microwaved it for 4 minutes. Added the ramen, cooked for 1 minute. Added broccoli, then cooked it for another two minutes. It came out exactly the way I like it. It’s great for Mac and cheese too, but I microwave it for an additional minute.

Living with a lot of roommates discouraged me from cooking in the kitchen because it’s always so cramped or dirty so anything that I can make in my room with a microwave is a lifesaver for me and this really helps. I’ve cooked macaroni, penne, and bowties in a third of the time I’d spend boiling water on a stove and making pasta that way. And this also works great with those little Knorr pasta sides.

It’s also ridiculously easy to clean. I fell asleep and forgot to wash out the cheese and pasta that hardened overnight and it took like 2 seconds of rinsing and scrubbing for everything to come out.

I have 4 of these handy versatile containers. I use them for mac n cheese, food storage, oatmeal, heating leftovers, and cooking small amounts of pasta for salad. They are very sturdy and easy to clean. I haven’t baked a cake in one yet but I might try to make some cornbread from a box! I might get 2 more, I use them so much!

Newsflash–Last night I mixed a box of cornbread, added to a greased Rapid Mac container, and baked a nice loaf of cornbread in the microwave!!!

I can vouch for this! That’s how we use to make our Mac and cheese at work for the kiddos! It tastes good!

Do you just cook it on High for 5 minutes in the microwave and then add the butter, milk and cheese after?

      • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, and you stir it halfway through. My 14-year-old daughter loves it. Very easy and only one dish to clean- no strainer.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! Glad to hear how well it has worked for your family, Aubrey! Thanks for the feedback! 🥰

  2. Seana

Wouldn’t it be easy to use a bowl? And cheaper?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great question, Seana. When looking throught the Q&A on the product page this was also asked and it seems that a regular bowl didn’t cook the noodles as completely as the Rapid Mac Cooker. Hoping that is helpful!

    • Elizabeth

Not sure about the bowl, but you can get these type of quicker cookers at the dollar tree. That is for sure cheaper.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

        Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth!

  3. Crystal

Awesome, my hours are changing at my job, and I am always looking for a quick fix on dinner ideas (single mom), this will definitely come in handy. Thank you!

  4. Luann

I think this makes a much creamier mac and cheese because the starch from the pasta is absorbed and not dumped out with the water, as it is when cooked conventionally. If you like the texture out of the “blue box,” you may not care for this. The Rapid products are also available for cooking rice and ramen and eggs.
