Yes, itās only an $8 delivery fee, butā¦ the tip. This is very tricky because I have no idea how the driver is getting paid. My Samās orders are usually a couple hundred dollars at a time. When I tried to do delivery, the website āsuggestedā a min 18% tip I think? Up to 25%!! Sorry, but thatās just out of my price range. I donāt want to screw the driver, but I also canāt afford a $100 tip. If you have any info on how the delivery drivers are getting paid, please post.
Hi Jennifer! I just chatted with Sam’s customer service and got the following information. – “Deliver from club drivers, is being paid by our third party delivery services which is Sparks Walmart Delivery.Ā They are compensated on how many trips they made in a day and tips are just their additional income.Ā You can tip how much you preferred.” Hope that’s helpful.š

My club refuses to pick up large items for curbside such as paper towels, toilet paper, etcā¦ and it can take a long time for the order to come outā¦and time slots fill very quickly!

My curbside pickup is great and has saved me an abundance of time (and probably back issues). I also have free shipping for a lot of things with my plus membership. I do think since they added the delivery service that some of the āshippingā orders end up being delivered by the new delivery drivers. It is much appreciated to receive the item so quickly but I feel weird since I obviously didnāt tip (those drivers rely on tips).
Hey, Jennifer! I agree with you that curbside is great especially with being a plus member. Since we get 2% back on qualifying purchases it basically pays for itself. Win-win! And yes it does feel weird not to tip when they send our order with a driver to be delivered. Thanks for sharing.š
