Walgreens will never, ever give overage. It is in their written coupon policy available in their online Help Center. Do this deal online only because online coupons will scale down to meet the value of the actual cost. Online coupons have to scale to account for missing stock. Instore the coupon will not apply because the value of the coupon is more than the value of the items themselves and the cash registers do not scale down. My advice if interested in this deal is clip the coupon immediately before it hits its limits and buy online quickly before Walgreens sells out/limits the deal.

Can this deal be done in store?
Hi Julie! Unfortunately, this deal doesn’t appear to work in store since the coupon value is higher than the item price, which Walgreens policy doesn’t allow. Their online system does still reduce the value of the coupon down for you to still grab this one online. Hope that helps!
When I tried to do this in the store, it came up current price for BOGO half off. I had the coupon clipped in my acct. The cashier had to call over a manager, and the manager insisted it wasn’t included with the coupon cuz it was trial size. I showed her on the app that it was listed as one of the eligible items, and showed her when I put them in my cart on the app, it applied the coupon. She said she wouldn’t allow it if I was going to get it for free. Well, thank you…I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Walgreens has two separate shopping worlds. They do not mix and do not have the same rules at all. In-store shopping is governed by the weekly ad and if you go in through the ad the trial size is not listed as eligible. If you look at my comments above I have explained why it can’t work in-store. Online shopping is governed by what you see listed online in the app and on the Walgreens Promotion Terms page. In-store deals and online deals can sometimes be the same but usually are not. It is confusing and frustrating I know. Just a suggestion for Hip2Save but perhaps label Walgreens deals as “In-store”, “Online”, “In-store and Online”. Thank you Hip2Save.

When I tried it in the app I set the quantity to 2 and it changed to 1 and said there is a limit of 1.
Hmm, I wonder if that may have changed due to the inventory available in your area? I can still add two to my cart and head to checkout. You could try changing your location if possible. Hoping that helps!
