Starbucks Rewards Changes Start Today (New Tiers, Free Mod Mondays & More)

Starting today, March 10th, Starbucks is rolling out changes to the Rewards Program (free to join) including:
- New tiered membership levels: Green, Gold, and Reserve.
- Changes to Star expirations: Gold & Reserve Member Stars no longer expire.
- Maximum redemption values for the 100, 200, and 300 Star tiers.
- New benefits like Free Mod Mondays, 60 Star Tier and Bonus Stars when reloading $30+
How do Starbucks Rewards work?
To get started, create a Rewards account. You can do this online or through the Starbucks app. Members earn stars on EVERY order outside of gift card purchases and stars accumulate and can be redeemed for free food, drinks and merch.
In addition to the Free Mod Mondays and the Bonus Stars for reloads mentioned above, all members get double stars for using a personal cup.
How quickly you earn Stars depends on which tier you belong to…
- Green Members: Earn One Star for Every $1 Spent
- Gold Members: Earn 1.2 Stars for Every $1 Spent + 4 Extra Double Star Days Per Year
- Reserve Members: Earn 1.7 Stars for Every $1 Spent + 6 Extra Double Star Days Per Year
Members can achieve Gold status by earning 500 Stars or Reserve status by earning 2,500 Stars once at Gold status.

Starbucks Star Rewards redemption options:
- 25 Stars: Swap in any milk substitutions, syrups, or an extra shot of espresso free of charge (up to $1).
- 60 Stars: Up to $2 off any item – New!
- 100 Stars: Brewed hot or iced coffee or tea, bakery item, packaged snack, and more (up to $6).
- 200 Stars: Grab a free handcrafted drink (including Cold Brew, Lattes, and more) or a hot breakfast item (up to $10).
- 300 Stars: Indulge in a free protein box, salad, or sandwich, or take home a bag of coffee (up to $16).
- 400 Stars: Signature mug, drink tumbler, or select coffee merch (up to $20).
Do Starbucks Rewards Expire?
Green member Stars (including partial Stars) expire 6 months after they’re earned. You can extend the expiration by one month by doing one of the following in the month before they expire: make a qualifying purchase (excluding Starbucks Cards, alcohol, and delivery), redeem a Reward, or reload $30+ to your Starbucks Card through the app or website.
Stars do not expire while you maintain Gold or Reserve status.

What is the Starbucks Birthday Reward?
All Rewards members get a free drink of their choice! But note that Birthday Rewards vary by status: Green members can redeem on their birthday only, Gold members have 7 days, and Reserve members have 30 days. The reward is valid for one standard-size drink and you must complete at least one star-earning transaction before your birthday each year to qualify.
Heads up to members who are reserve status the bear cup that went viral is available limit one but it’s $10 to ship it making it a $40 cup
