I went last Wednesday and there was basically nothing left
DARN! Thanks for letting us know what it was like at your store, Kate!
Clearance is so random. I went to one store 12/26 and it was already 70 percent off and a different one on 1/2 and it was only 15 percent off! Crazy
Wow! It sure does vary. Thanks for sharing what you’ve spotted!
And yet another had Christmas decor items individually tagged from 30 to 70 percent off (or so the sign said, though nothing I was interested in was as low as 70 percent off) and it had been moved to another section of the store where it’ll likely languish. I know at least one of my stores was restocking holiday stuff just a day or so before Christmas. I suspect most of the holiday items that never made it in store are still in cargo holds in the ocean and we’ll be buying Christmas decor in July. Hopefully at 90 percent off!
I went to four different stores I scored last year at target this year was definitely not the same the isles were bare weeks before Xmas I live in vegas so maybe that had something to do with it ๐คทโโ๏ธ
It’s not just Vegas for sure. The clearance deals are definitely not like they used to be. It just depends on what your store has. My store is still getting some holiday stuff. I found a whole endcap of Haribo Holiday Gummy Bears the other day that they were just putting on the shelf. Even though they just got them in, they already had them 30% off for clearance. I’m hoping to sneak by there again later this week to see if they have marked them down more.
Thanks for the insight maybe Iโll hit up another target this week to see what I can score ๐
I happened to be in the kids department and saw a few random Christmas pajamas hanging with some non Christmas related pjs. I scanned them and they were 90% off so I grabbed 2 for a total of $1.80. Other than that our Target is cleared out of Christmas items with some patio items making their way out in their place.
Glad you could snag a few PJs for cheap!๐ Thanks for commenting, Laura! ๐ค
I went to my two local targets. Although there wasn’t much in the clearance section that is in the back of the store, I found a lot in regular aisles. There were dixie paper plates marked 0.34 that had definitely not been out before – I had been looking for them before Christmas. I found a lot of hearth & hand items for 90% off, although I didn’t need any of it (striped pillows, candles, bells, garland, stockings, advent calendars. The pet and beauty aisles also had a lot of gift sets ringing up for 90% off. Got some Wonderland socks in the regular section and a pearl headband form beauty. This was all found this morning.
Those are great finds! Thanks for the feedback on the clearance items you scored! ๐๐
What does the gift set look like? What does it contain?
I went there yesterday, found some item that one you tuber was showing 90%, no such luck. I found some lip balm holiday favors, ran up regular price. Found some socks and baby pajamas all ringing up regular price, not ever 50%. Most of Christmas was gone or they packaged it up. ๐ Was not worth my gas, walked out without anything ๐
Holiday clearance is really store by store now, not corporate wide. You can’t go by the markdown schedules of the past. It depends on how much stuff a store has left, how much it was marked down before the holiday, etc.
On 12/26 nothing was left anywhere here on the East Coast, shelves were empty for the first time ever.
Christmas stuff was gone when I went last week
Same. Went last week and there were only a handful of random items throughout the store. I wonder what’s up!
They have been doing this for years now. Everything is packed up and put in the back. It is brought out the next year at full price at that store or shipped to another target for full price next Christmas. I know someone who works for Target. She told me the company decided not to pass off any savings to there customers any more. They see more profit sending clearance to another store for Christmas inventory. Sad!
My target had all Christmas packed away on 12/23. They were already setting up for Valentine’s Day ๐
So I stopped by target yesterday and I found one stocking on a clearance end cap with a 70% off price tag but scanned it and it was 90%, checked all over the store and didnโt spot anything else. Then I saw a sharpie gift set. It didnโt have any Christmas decor on it, but I scanned it and it said holiday sharpie set. It rang up full price at $39.99 but I asked the cashier as it said holiday and she said she would give it to me for $12 (70% off since it said holiday) so that was a sweet score ๐
