My store in south Florida has nothing left but wrapping paper and storage tubs. Either they put away all the decorations or people came in at midnight and bought everything!

    • Gege1804

Where in FL are you? I am in west palm and even the week before Christmas I couldn’t find anything

      • Nicole S

I’m also in west palm beach and they don’t have enough to even have clearance items. Every holiday its the same thing. Rarely ever see 75-90% off any more.

      • Katiria Colon

        Broward

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Aww, bummer, Katiria. Thanks for sharing what’s left at your location. I hadn’t been able to get out at mine yet, but I’m wondering if it’s similar for my area too. ❤️ Hoping some other stores have some great clearance for you to scoop up! 🤞

    • AndS

Oh no! I was going to check out the north miami target store tomorrow :/

  2. Happy Aunt

I feel like the days of good clearance deals are over. Stores are quick to move on to the next thong and rather than clearancing items until they sell, will box them up for next year or sell them to stores like Ollie’s, Big Lots, Marshall’s, etc.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

I hear ya! It does seem that inventory and clearance has changed a bit over the last few years, Happy Aunt. ❤️ I’ve been able to scoop up some good ones at my local CVS/Walgreens locations, some Target, and Walmart still. Hoping you’re able to spot some goodies near you clearanced out too! 🤞🎄

    • lisa

      Agree…

    • Sarah

Yes!! It’s so sad. It was so much fun to find so many things at 90% off and now there’s never anything and rarely will you find it at 90% off. I don’t run out a week after the holiday anymore to find the 90% off. It’s just not worth it.

    • Jennifer

I know the bin stores routinely have a ton of Target items so I do think that Target barely sells much of their remaining items on clearance anymore. I at first thought it was inventory control at the stores but after going to various bin stores over the past year, I decided Target must get more money selling their discontinued or seasonal items in bulk to them. I miss the 90% off days!!

    • ME2016

it’s really noticeable this year. I visited 2 local Targets a few days ago and one had nothing left and the other had wrapping paper and tissue paper. Same for Kohl’s, Marhall’s/HomeGoods – I think retailers have figured out the formula – better sales before Christmas and little stock will be left over for deeper discounts.

  3. momma24and3

Found the mini waffle makers at my store and they rang up $4.99!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

WOW! Nice find! Thanks for sharing about one of the clearance items you snagged today! 🧇💕

  4. Anne

Spent the day treasure hunting at all my stores. Started bright & early. Most stores were cleared out before 12/26. They either bought the exact correct inventory for this season, or they had already started 50% off (some 70% off) by 12/24. I found a few random items at a local (not national chain) general store…only because they did not have signage until 1100am. Otherwise, the national chains had no wrapping paper, gift bags, napkins, soaps, novelty ears/headbands, decor, etc. Lots of candy at 50% at Krogers, but the original price was more than other stores. Clearance this year is nothing like what you have pictured. (Oh, and btw, Dollar Tree had already put out Easter items!!!)

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Sure appreciate the update on what you spotted (or lack there of) on your clearance hunting throughout the day, Anne. 💞 Glad the day wasn’t a total bust with finding some deals at your local general store.

  5. Marie

We looked, we laughed, and we left. Discounts mean nothing when the items are so overpriced to start with.

    • KKStanley

Marie…ABSOLUTELY!! This year was the worst for that. Retailers must think we all live under rocks or something?🙄

  6. Amy

I went to Lowe’s and Rite Aid the week before Christmas and got some decent stuff for 75%. I got a couple of items at Dollar Tree today but don’t think I am going to buy much more until it hits 90% off. I just don’t need that much, and a lot of stores near me did not have the usual stuff I look for, like giftable baking supplies at Walmart.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome to hear you’ve already been able to snag some clearance deals before today, Amy! 🙌🎄

  7. Lynnie

I wonder if target will still do 90% off around the 2nd like normal or if they will do early this year.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

We’ll be sure to keep watch for the 90% off! 👀

  8. Anne Marie Roy

Having worked at Target – they are very good at keeping track what sells in their stores. So for those, saying nothing left, that is because Target did not put extra merchandise out at your store that would not sell before they would have clearance it. Generally, a new Target store will have much more merchandise than one that is over five years old, after that they limit merchandise.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge on the inventory at Target, Anne Marie. Good to know this may be why there is less clearance items available at select locations. ❤️

  9. Gege1804

I did find some good stuff at home goods but they weren’t ringing up as Christmas items even though I did find them in that aisle. The cashier was nice enough to call the manager and she push them through. I have already started my gift closet for next year. Also, hobby lobby had some decor as well.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Yay for stocking the gift closet early, Gege1804! Thanks for letting us know the places you stopped in to score some great deals – sounds like successful shopping trips. 🥰

  10. Julie

Anyone know when target holiday drops to 70 percent off?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Julie! In the past, we’ve noticed the markdowns happening a few days before New Years (typically around today’s date). You might call your store ahead of making a trip to be sure on the current markdown percentages near you, as this may vary a bit due to location and inventory. ❤️

  11. julie

I noticed in my Target app that last year I got candy at 50% on 12/30. I will have to check tomorrow as Wednesday it was still only 30% off

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hoping we see that discount soon, Julie! Thanks for the reminder on when that was available last year! We’ll keep an eye out! 👀🙌

  12. DeeBeeTee

Went to the local Target (it’s a small store) and they didn’t have too much and some of the holiday items had sticker markdowns (like ziploc bags). Found a box of Marvel advent socks and a box of Scunci clips and they did ring up 70% off. Might venture out to one of the larger locations.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Nice find! Thanks for sharing what you spotted at your store!👀💞

  13. Marie

Anyone seeing candy at 50% off yet?

    • LESLIE

Everything in Southeast PA was 70% and 50% for food.

  14. Linda Ferraro

Hi everyone. I live in NJ I was shopping at my local target and there was a girl sampling chips. I saw she had wrapping paper and xmas cards. I said are these free and she said yes help yourself take as many as you want. So I took 10 wrapping papers and 10 cards and they also had xmas tags. It was amazing. 1st time i saw this. I wish there was a spot to post a picture of what I got for Free. The cards and the paper matched.

    I love free,

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Wow, that’s great! 🙌 Thanks for sharing the experience you had in your store, Linda! 🥰

  15. joni

target is 70% there was quite a bit left in N Y but still overpriced I got tissue paper for 90 cents woo hoo the girl at target said they wont being going down to 90% hope she was wrong. The candy at 50% not a real deal. Walgreens was 60%, also not that great of a deal. Does anyone know any stores that are 90%?? Happy Hunting.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing the prices and items you spotted on clearance at your location, joni! Hoping you spot some 90% at other stores soon! 🤞💗

  16. Kristi

Outside of Buffalo, NY all Christmas clearance is 70% off, including all of the candy. Some stores have a lot more available than others, so it is worth it to visit multiple stores if they aren’t too far apart. 😊

  17. Samia

Thanks! What section were the Stanley Tumblers in Target?

    • Jessica (Hip' Sidekick)

Hi Samia! These look like they were by the other regular-priced Stanleys – usually over by the tumblers, coffee mugs, etc. However be sure to look around as we’ve been seeing clearance items being placed all over Target not just in the sections/category you would normally find them in. Happy hunting!

      • Samia

Thank you for the quick response

  18. Erin Dubecky

I went to my local Target in Torrington, CT and they had so much Christmas stuff at 70% off that I literally started sweating with excitement!

    • Jessica (Hip' Sidekick)

That’s so great to hear, Erin! I hope you were able to grab some nice savings!

  19. Silja

My Target had hardly anything left, no candy, no wrapping paper, no cards… nothing… I went this past Saturday. I live out of town from where the only Target is here, and don’t have time to go during the week since I work( also away from the town/city). But Walmart had plenty stuff left, but only discounted 50% though, not worth it to me. Oh well it’s not like I “ needed” any more Xmas stuff😆😂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing what you’ve spotted at the stores near you!🙌❤️ I don’t “need” anymore Christmas stuff either! – Unless there’s a SUPER great clearance deal to score of course. 😆

  20. Lora

It depends on if it’s a high volume or low volume traffic Target on when they mark things down. My Target will pull everything off the shelves by the end of today. If I were to find a Christmas item they missed tomorrow, they won’t sell it to me. I have had this happen a few times already.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing how it has worked at your Target, Lora! 💞

  21. Pam

Thanks! Found a bunch this morning! Pjs, slippers, gift bags and wrap, home decor, housewares, outside decor – even a tree! All 90% off (candy still at 70% off). Good haul this morning!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Wow! Amazing haul for sure! Thanks for sharing what you scored today, Pam! 🎉🥰🙌

    • jac

Same at my store in central MO! Lots of candy and packaged baked goods, all 70%, and all other Christmas was 90%. As of noon or so, there were still about 2 full aisles left. I picked up a couple of monogrammed stoneware mugs for my grown children to use when they visit (vs. getting a new one out of the cabinet EVERY TIME they want a hot drink!), $.50 each; a handful of metal cookie cutters and a couple of mini spatulas for $.10 each. Nothing else we needed or wanted, but it was fun to look. And I got out of there for less than $2.

  22. Julia

I went on 12/29 and our local Target was 70% off. Stocked up on the wrapping paper, some decor items and candy. There wasn’t as much as in previous years, but some things. I think if you see items at 50% off or more and you want it, you better get it before it is gone. Just my thoughts…

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

I feel the same about snagging items around the 50% discount as well, Julia. 💕 Thanks for letting us know what discount and items you found at your location – glad it was a successful trip!

  23. Nicole Castellani

I’m in Sparks, NV and everything is 70% off candy wise, wrapping paper, etc is 90%. Disney 100 toys also rang up 90% off!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing this update about availability of items and discounts for your location, Nicole. Good to know! 🤗

  24. snow ball

I went in this morning to my local Target, at 9am and everything Christmas was still marked and scanning at 70% off. Is there a chance it could have since changed to 90% mid day??

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey snow ball! You might call your location to find out when they mark down items, and if they have an anticipated date for 90% off, as it can sometimes vary by location. ❤️

      • snow ball

Hi Jessica! So I went back and Christmas is signed and scanning at 90% now, it may have just been user error LOL! I found quite a few goodies:)

        • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey again! YAY!! 🎉 I’m so happy to hear this update. Glad it was a great trip back to the store with big savings! 💕

  25. joni

Today my local target was 90% off stuff and 70% off candy, even after employees said it never goes to 90% anymore 🙂 got several Holiday t shirts for 1.40 and peppermint body scrub for 79 cents. They had tons of candy left!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Nice scores, joni! 🎉 Great to hear your store had some good markdowns!

  26. MrsG

I found some good things today at 90% off in Alabama. Mug warmer, bath bombs, hair product, coffee mug, marshmallows, Starbucks coffee…

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Wow! I love hearing all the fun finds everyone scores. Sounds like a great trip, MrsG. Thanks for hopping into the comments to share all the great items you snagged on clearance! 💗

  27. Melissa

Got my son 13 pairs of Christmas/ winter pajamas for $13.00 plus tax … all 90% off …some will fit now and we are all set for the holidays 2024 !!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Wowza! 🙌 Fabulous scores on jammies for your son, Melissa! ❤️

  28. Vikky

is clearance still on Jan2, or was it just Jan 1???

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hey there! It seems many found it at 90% off yesterday! Hoping you find some great deals at that deep discount at your location! 🤞❤️

  29. Mimi

    Went this evening, Jan 2nd.
My target had everything pulled 👎

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! We’re hearing others mentioning this now too, and have added a note to the post on this. Such a bummer there doesn’t seem to be clearance available. 😔

  30. Jen

Yup, Targets in the Highlands Ranch/Littleton (CO) areas were pulling everything this morning. Wouldn’t even allow me to purchase things that were still out on the floor. Total bummer. :-/ Any idea WHY they do that?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

It seems they may gather them up to sell at a discount chain. Sorry to hear you were not able to grab the leftover clearance items at your store, Jen. 😔

  31. Brandon

    High traffic Target in California:
    – 12/25 – closed
    – 12/26 – clearance 30% off
    – 12/29 – 50% off
    – 12/31 or 1/1 – 70% off
    – 1/2 – all Christmas items pulled off the shelves. I’m sure they were pulled because there were still 2 aisles (of mostly candy) under 70% clearance on 1/1 evening, shortly before close. Rain was pouring today & parking lot was only half full. Guest Services told me Corporate has instructed them to discard any returned Christmas merchandise at this point.

This Target operates on a similar clearance schedule for Valentine’s, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. I’ve never seen “seasonal” items left on clearance for over a week past the expired holiday.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for taking the time to share how it worked out at your store, Brandon. ❤️

  32. Amy

I went last night after work, and all the Christmas stuff was pretty much gone. I was able to find some items randomly scattered around the store, mostly skincare and cosmetics kits, but it was clear that the employees were taking everything they could find off the shelves. There were even a few holiday food items that didn’t come up at all when I scanned. The cashier just estimated a price to get it out the door. I got some good deals, but it was clear these were the very tail end of what would be there this year.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing what was left at your store, Amy! Glad you were still able to snag a few good deals! 🙌💖
