An experience gift – Potentially FREE!

Kids crave quality time more than they realize and the years are fleeting, so be sure to carve out some quality time for your tween boy this holiday season. Some of the very best gifts are experiences money can’t buy and just hanging out with your tween can be meaningful, free, and fun! We’re huge fans of experiences over gifts and when it comes to tweens we strongly encourage one on one time especially if they often share time with siblings.

You could also buy him experience and a ski or paintball trip, dinner at his favorite restaurant, a visit to Top Golf, an NFL football game, and much more! Search your local area on Groupon for fun things to save on!

  1. Katie

The mini fridge is so cute and great in theory, but I have found that that particular type really doesn’t even keep drinks cold, let alone stay cold enough to safely store anything perishable. Just an FYI.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the honest feedback on the cooling of this mini fridge, Katie. πŸ’•

  2. Heather Simpson

The Fairlife Vanilla protein shakes are the best, totally agree! However; they’re $3 at Dollar General πŸ™‚

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up on where to snag them in-store, Heather! Great to hear you enjoy them also! πŸ€—

    • Heather

They’re not available on Amazon either.

I give experiences as main gifts to each of my kids and close family/friends. I watch concert presages throughout the year, or utilize the $20 Live Nation concert deal when it is live earlier in the year, track shows and events, etc.

Then I use AlohaLittleOne.Etsy.com and she makes printable/personalized event tickets for me and I gift them that way! It is a huge hit and always gives us something to look forward to throughout the year.

Taking my daughter to Olivia Rodrigo, my husband to a Colts game, and my son to NYC. Friends/family to Lainey Wilson, Zach Bryan. So stoked!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Wow! Very cool to hear about all the experiences coming up that you’ve gifted, Heather. πŸ’• I’m sure the memories and pictures taken during those are the best gift! I enjoy gifting experiences as a main gift too!

  4. CM

Tokyo box is really cool! My kids got a gift subscription last year and absolutely loved it!

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Great to hear this subscription box was a hit with your kids! Thanks so much for commenting, CM! ❀️

  5. Tisha

Does anyone know where Nike tech fleece for boys above is currently on sale? My order was cancelled at dicks.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Sorry to hear your order at Dick’s was cancelled, Tisha! I did find it on sale here if you’d like to check that option! πŸ€—πŸ’•

  6. Nancy

Any recommendations for ear buds that allow my tween to hear me talking to them? Noise cancelling sounds great until it cancels out Mom’s voice!

    • Rebecca Solomon

My son routinely wears one at homeβ€” improves greatly his hearing me

  7. alex
