It works just fine if it is available to you as a store pickup or as part of a ship to home order. The math works because with an ONLINE NOT IN-STORE orders digital coupons scale. The coupon reads up to $7. The digital coupon scales to $5.98 with an online purchase making it free. This is a Walgreens peculiarity and it exists to make online purchasing practical. In-store coupons do not scale; online digital coupons do scale. Make sure you have the digital clipped and put the right variety in the cart and you will see.
I would really love to see our Math. It is buy one get one free coupon (combined with a buy one get one for 50% off). So if one is $8, two will be $16. Buy one get second for 50% which makes the second one to be $4, making the total for two to be $12. Now the second coupon applies for a total value of $7, making the total to be $5 for two products (plus taxes). Now I want to see your math. Please show me how it goes down to $0.

What might be missing from your calculation is that it applies for a clearance variety as stated in the article. The clearance sandalwood variety is $3.98 each with buy one get one half off. So $5.98 for both. The coupon scales down to $5.98 online only not in the store. If you use the link in the article it will take you to the sandalwood variety. I hope it is still around for you to get the deal. One of the nice things about shopping Walgreens is the great deals on clearance. Online the coupons scale down to the sale price so it’s worth regularly scanning clearance. in the store manufacturers coupons will apply to clearance as long as the clearance price is equal or above the value of the coupon. I’m not sure why works fine for me. If you are putting it in as a ship to home order you will see a shipping fee. In that case you would need to put together a $35 order for it to work.
I’ve tried putting in 2 ship to home orders today over $35. The orders were fulfilled from 2 different stores (via shipping) from a store in NH and MA (I am in Maine). The Air Wicks were not fulfilled in either order, nor were some Neutrogena Sunscreens or pantiliners that I had ordered. In chatting with customer service I was advised that most orders are now fulfilled and shipped by stores rather than a warehouse. Since some of the items in my order were available at a store they shipped what was available and cancelled the other items. It is very frustrating because I’d like these items but I am certainly not going to make another $35 purchase to test it out again, nor do I feel like it would be worth it to pay the $5.99 shipping.

Yes I have commented before several times that at least for me the orders are coming from stores. Look in your rewards activity section to find a full record. My orders used to come from the Southern Illinois warehouse which is now closed. It put a lot of folks out of work and has certainly increased the fails on ship to home orders. My only tip to improve fill rates is to look for a tiny box at checkout that says something like “ get your order faster”. Be sure to uncheck it. I send my opinions regularly to Walgreens regularly by writing to Walgreens headquarters. It makes me feel better and I’d like to think offers them excellent advice to improve customer satisfaction while boosting sales. Alas! They haven’t offered me a consultancy position yet! 😋 I send my very best wishes to you and commiserate with you.
Yes, I did uncheck that box for both orders. I was hopeful and gave it a try and feel like I should just give it a rest… though I may end up giving it a try for just the Air Wick and Neutrogena to see what happens. I keep talking myself out of it because I am sure only 1 would be fulfilled and then I would still be upset at myself for paying the $5.99 shipping haha
