X-Sense Smart Smoke Detector 3-Pack
Just $69.99 shipped (reg. $99.99)!
Upgrade the smoke detectors in your home with this smart kit! Each detector can be programmed to each room and when set off, will tell you which room smoke is detected in to quickly locate the issue. They also give voice alerts for low battery, malfunctions, and more, and you can receive alerts right from your phone. Their app also allows you to silence or test each alarm without climbing a ladder and up to 12 family members can be added to the account.
This kit includes the base station and three smoke detectors. The detectors have a 10-year photoelectric sensor lifespan and include a replaceable battery that lasts for up to 5 years.
Does anyone have these? I’m curious as to how/if they work during outages of power and internet. I realize there is a battery, but does this just mean you can’t silence them without getting to the unit?
Hi Sue! I’m not finding specific details on how the battery operates. I did find the user manual that provides more details, linked here, if that might be helpful to read through for more information about the connectivity of this detector! 🤞
I checked with X-Sense customer service, and they confirmed that the alarms will keep working even if there’s a power and internet outage. They’ve got a battery backup, so they’ll still detect smoke and set off the alarm. But if your internet is down, you won’t be able to use the app to control the alarm or get alerts on your phone. So, the alarm will still do its job at home, but you can’t manage it from your phone until the internet’s back up.
Very helpful – and appreciate the update after checking with customer service. Thanks a bunch for this! 🤗
Thank you May2024 for your response. I found out my insurance requires them to be hardwired, so these will not work for me after all.
