Big Lots Announces More Store Closures: Nearly 150 Locations in 28 States!
Big Lots is closing stores! Here’s the scoop.
Earlier in July, Big Lots announced that they were planning to close around 40 of its almost 1,400 stores. Now they have expanded that list to nearly 150 stores across 28 states. Be sure to check the full list of closures to see if your store is on the list.
Between inflation and a challenging economy, sales are down and the company’s financials are cause for concern. The SEC filing indicates an ongoing apprehension about whether Big Lots can continue to operate, so it isn’t surprising to see the number grow from 40 to 150.
Big Lots is just one of several companies hurting in this economy. It joins a list of others, a few of which we have recently reported on, including Redbox closing over 24,000 kiosks and Red Lobster announcing bankruptcy.
Is your Big Lots on the list? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!
I used to shop at big lots somewhat regularly but hardly go there now as the prices have gone up. We used to enjoy looking for bargains there, but I can get the same items now at Walmart or target. I’ve been afraid they might have to close some stores.
Same 🙂
So sorry for the people who are losing jobs in this economy 🙁
I used to shop there all the time. But there prices are nothing special. You used to be able to get deals but prices are expensive.
Their prices were so high I only shopped there if I had a coupon.
