Costco Raises Prices on Food Court Sodas & Chicken Bake (Hot Dog & Soda Combo is Still $1.50 Though!)
Who doesn’t love a cheap lunch at Costco?
The Costco food court may not be the most glamorous of restaurants, but when it comes to convenience and affordability, we LOVE it! But we were bummed to hear they have raised the prices on two of our favorite menu items — their 20 oz. sodas and their Chicken Bakes!
The Chicken Bakes have been a staple food item on the Costco food court menu and one of our favorites! Previously priced at $2.99 these food court Chicken Bakes have increased to $3.99. But, if you have eaten out at any fast food restaurant lately, you’ll see that prices have quickly increased almost everywhere. So even at $3.99 this Chicken Bake, made from fresh ingredients, including chicken breast, cheese, bacon, and Caesar dressing wrapped up in leftover pizza dough, still feels like a deal!
The 20 oz. soda has also increased, going from 59¢ to 69¢ — still a deal when you consider the prices of 20 oz. bottles of soda at the convenience stores.
Despite the increase in prices for two of our favorites, many staples are remaining the same — including Costco’s famous hot dog and soda combo which remains priced at just $1.50! Not only is this the most popular option on the menu, but it’s also been on the Costco food court menu for the same $1.50 price since 1984! Considering you can barely get a soda at a restaurant for under $2 these days, getting a giant hot dog and a large soda for under $2 is pretty hard to beat!
Other menu options you can still grab at their low prices include…
Giant Slice of Pizza — still just $1.99!
Everything’s bigger at Costco, including their slice of pizza! Costco’s popular pizza was first introduced in 1989 and hasn’t changed in price for over 30 years. For just $1.99 per slice, you can order a huge slice of cheese, pepperoni, or combo pizza that barely fits on a plate. Each pizza is made with chewy artisan dough, a thick slathering of U.S. grown tomatoes, aged, buttery cheeses, and 10-month aged, shredded Parmesan cheese.
Twisted Cinnamon & Sugar Churro — still just $1.49!
For less than $1.50, you can enjoy a massive, 18″ soft and dough Cinnamon & Sugar Churro. Oh-my-YUM!
Ice Cream — still just $1.99 & Sundaes — still just $2.48!
Satisfy your sweet tooth! At Costco, you can get an ice cream cup for under $2! Make it a sundae for just 50 cents more! You can’t beat this price, especially when those summertime sundae cravings hit. 🍨
Looking to head to Costco for a quick meal?
You can enjoy all that the food court offers during their open store hours Monday thru Friday 10 AM – 8:30 PM, Saturday 9:30 AM – 6 PM, and Sunday 10 AM – 6 PM. However, most Costco locations list their store phone number under the Food Court section of their location’s website, so you may want to call ahead to confirm your local Costco’s exact food court hours.
Remember when the hot dog used to be a nice heavy beef dog, not anymore. The price may be the same, but the quality is not. I’ve found a lot of my favorite food items have been ruined by cost cutting maneuvers. I cannot believe it, but I’d rather pay more on some items to keep them the same.
Does anyone know if you have to be a member to take advantage of the food court?
Hey there! It looks like you will need to be a member to enter a Costco.
Unless you’re picking up a prescription in the pharmacy!
SWEET! Thanks for letting us know! 🥰
My local Costco in Hawaii is still not serving combo pizzas—it’s cheese or pepperoni only. Is this the case everywhere?
Hey molly! It looks like they may have discontinued that option. I found an article on that here, if you’d like to check it out! Hoping that is helpful! ❤️
