A Ross store may be coming to a town near you.

Ross has big news for bargain shoppers! The affordable retail company plans to open around 90 stores in 2024. Most of these stores will be Ross Dress for Less stores with about 15 being dd’s DISCOUNTS stores.

Many retail stores took a hit lately as households pulled the reigns on spending, but not Ross. The company tailors to the frugal and this business strategy has paid off in tougher times. In fact, we previously reported in 2020 and in 2022 that the company, which offers affordable apparel and home goods, was expanding.

And now, the growth is continuing in 2024. New stores are popping up in the Michigan and New York markets. Meanwhile, dd’s expansion is taking place in California, Florida, and Texas. According to Group Executive Vice President, Gregg McGillis, the company now has 2,127 Ross Dress for Less and dd’s DISCOUNTS locations in 43 states plus the District of Columbia, and Guam.

So is this similar to TJ Maxx?

Hey there! Another reader on this post shared their opinion on Ross compared to TJ Maxx, if you wanted to check that out. They are similar in that they are larger chains that both offer a wide selection of well-known/name brand itmes at discounted prices. ❤️

Essentially the same concept as Marshalls & TJ, but messy. Ross reminds me Burlington. The only Ross & Burlington I have ever been to have been a complete disorganized, disaster.

They had DD’s Discounts in Orlando. You couldn’t pay me enough to ever walk in that store again. Hopefully they have straightened that out. Now THAT store was a dump

Ross is what TJMaxx use to be years ago. Their prices are much better and they do great discounts and markdowns. They also have craft sections that fills a bit what Tuesday mornings use to carry. I find them to be a few dollars less for the same items that TJMaxx and Burlington would carry. Also some fun kids toys and great makeup discounts.

Ross offers Senior Discount of 10% on all purchases every week through their Tuesday Club; only requirement must be 55+ and let cashier know you’re a member during check out. It’s a nice way to save even more on their already low prices. When shopping Ross the key is to buy when you spot a deal, the move products quickly.
