For the last decade or so, we’ve witnessed the rising trend of natural deodorants along with some controversies over which brands are the best of the best. We’ll never know for sure which natural deodorant truly is “the best” because at the end of the day, everyone has different pit sensitivities and everyone has a different aroma preference.
One thing we do know for sure though is that most natural, aluminum-free deodorant is EXPENSIVE. You’re lucky if you can find a stick under $7 and the majority retail for over $10. That’s a good chunk of change for deodorant! Thankfully, my favorite natural deodorants retails for under $3 🙌. Pretty Hip, right?!
Here’s why I love my under $3 Arm & Hammer Essentials aluminum-free deodorant:

I’ve been riding the natural deodorant train for about 10 years now and have tried numerous brands and compared their prices at popular retailers like Target, Amazon, Walmart, and a few drugstores. No other brand even comes close to the price tag of this aluminum-free deodorant.
In fact, for the price of one stick of the popular Native natural deodorant brand ($11.97), I could get around 4 to 5 sticks of Arm & Hammer’s natural deodorant. If you get as excited about those savings as I do, I’ll give you a minute or two to go stock up on the most affordable aluminum-free deodorant there is. 😉

To get the best deal on your Arm & Hammer Essentials deodorant, first compare prices at Walmart and Amazon as they typically have the cheapest options. You can also find the deodorant at Target (can be more expensive and hard to locate) and get it price-matched to the best Amazon or Walmart price.

I’ve been using aluminum free deoderant for many years. I’ve tried it all. Read Taylors last article and someone said Arm and Hammer is at Dollar Tree. Hooked ever since! I love the scent! It lasts all day, no irritation. Rarely, I may need a second application right before going to bed. But compared to most other aluminum free deoderants that’s pretty good with a price you cant beat!
Just don’t buy in bulk until you try it. Works for my husband, DID NOT work for me 🙁

I smelled so bad when I used this!
Smells great at first but that disappears very quickly. I smell better wearing nothing at all than wearing this. I was so hopeful but it just doesn’t work for me.
Caution: it still contains “fragrance”. Frangance can hide so much since per the fda, companies don’t have to disclose what is in it – proprietary ingredients.

The ‘Unscented’ and ‘Crisp’ products do not contain fragrances.
Publix frequently runs BOGO deals on this product, and if you are in store, you may be lucky enough to find products with coupons attached, which combines with the promotion. I’ve been able to stock up at around $.70 each, in the past. I make my own deodorant, but my teen uses this, and I’m pleased not to smell him! 😜 thank you so very much H2S, keep up the great work! Makes me smell horrible after it had worn off.
I’ve found it’s more effective if I switch around between a couple natural brands. I use Lume or Arm and Hammer with regular deodorant on the hottest summer days. For whatever reason they need a break!
I have tried several different (higher priced brands) and this by far (for me) last longer, even on the days I do a little workout, it has lasted. And I was lucky enough to snag at my local Dollar Tree! Thanks H2S
I have used this for about 10 years. When I started the aluminum free journey I had itchy,angry armpits for about a year until I found this deodorant. I have been using it ever since and never looked back. Highly recommend!
I started using this deodorant couple years ago and I am not going back to regular deodorants. This deodorant doesn’t irritate my under arms, I wear it even right after shaving.
I’ve been using this for years. Love it. People need to know it’s not an antiperspirant – but a deodorant.
It smelled SO STRONG. It gave me a headache. It worked but if you are sensitive to fragrance, buyer beware. At this price its worth the gamble though.
They had this at my Dollar Tree. I know American Cancer Society Hope Lodges take donations of aluminum-free deodorants to have for patients. My husband & I stayed several times when he was fighting pancreatic cancer and we appreciated the nice toiletries when we had to stay on the fly.
There is also a scent free for those that are scent sensitive. Don’t forget: if you’re coming from using antiperspirants your body actually was trained to sweat more to combat the antiperspirant. It can take a few weeks for your body to retrain, but it’s so very worth it if you read about the health dangers of the aluminum in your armpits. Just take more showers, etc. I’ve used it in Tucson summers for over 10 years now and no problems. (Winter is a good time to train your body to transition too.)

I have used this for years and I love it. I buy in bulk for the year. I tried a lot of other brands and nothing worked. I reapply once throughout the day. No biggie.
Definitely worth trying but did not work for me.
I tried this but it made my skin itch and burn really bad. I can use the regular sport version in this brand though without any irritation.
This works but tends to make my underarm feel wet. It works best as a winter deodorant if you’re one who sweats alot. I only buy it on sale for .99 at the grocery store or Walgreen.
I would be so let down if I got deodorant in my stocking. Never put deodorant in anyone’s stocking! Stockings should be filled with fun stuff.
I have used this deodorant for about 13 years. Only other aluminum free one I’ve tried and liked was Native (from a sample box) but due to price I dont get it. Also, I only use the fresh scent of this one (it’s technically a men’s one due to the scent) but I like it because the smell isn’t so strong and I like the unscented too. I do not reapply (but I also can’t say that I don’t end up smelling sometimes by the end of the day)
