I used to be a tumbler hoarder, but now Simple Modern is my go-to!
Some people have a ton of candles or throw blankets, while my cupboards were overflowing with water bottles and various-sized tumblers of all price ranges.
I recently paired my stash down to just a few and honestly, my Simple Modern tumbler with straw is what I use a majority of the time. I wasn’t familiar with Simple Modern until I heard one of my favorite Instagram and TikTok personalities discussing it, and purchased one for myself.
This tumbler comes with a lid and straw top as well as a flip lid that works well with hot coffee or tea for sipping without a straw. There’s no need to purchase these as an extra accessory like other brands. It is recommended to hand wash, which is fine by me since I’m usually not without this cup for long.
Hydroflask vs. Simple Modern — here’s my verdict…
Speaking of other brands, I used to really be into Hydroflask tumblers, but I have a habit of grabbing the tumbler by the lid, and Hydroflask lids pop right off. After spilling a couple of drinks I decided I am too clumsy and needed a sturdy screw-on lid, which I am glad Simple Modern has.
Since Simple Modern insulated tumblers are double-wall insulated, they keep my drinks nice and cold for hours, which is important when living in a hot climate like Arizona! In fact, this is the perfect pool day tumbler!
The slim fit feels so comfortable and I can easily hold onto it. Even though it’s insulated with metal, I feel like Simple Modern is a bit lighter than others. I also happen to love the modern sleek look, and think it’s so pretty!
I have the 20 oz. marble color but there are various colors and sizes available on Amazon.com to choose from! The slim shape is very cup holder-friendly. It fits perfectly into my car’s cup holder, which means I don’t have to swap cups when I leave the house.

For the Target listing, when you add it to the cart the name says tumbler with straw and flip top lid. Assuming it has both then. But you are right it doesn’t say in description.

I find that rinsing it with hot soapy water is good enough, although I do have one of those skinny straw brushes. Have you seen those?!

Are these spill proof? With the flip lid? I like to throw my tumblers in my purse when I get out if the car.

We switched to all Simple Modern water bottles at the beginning of the school year. We have 8 bottles in 4 different sizes. I love that all of the different sized water bottles use the same lid. We have extra lids and straws so we’ve cut down on the stress of finding matches. I went on their website and found a lot more options with prices comparable to target and Amazon.
