Did you know that you can use a coffee mug warmer plate for candles?!

Not a big fan of having open flames in the house? Neither are we, but we do love that homey feel a candle’s scent can give your home. When we saw this coffee mug warmer on Amazon and read through reviews about how people used it for candles, we thought it was worth a shot for sure!

There’s no better time than now to buy because Amazon has it on sale!

BESTINNKITS Smart Coffee Warmer from $19.99 (regularly $32.99)

For what it’s worth, this is not sponsored! We were so excited when we saw this candle warmer plate on sale that we wanted to share it with you all in case you’d like to try out this hack in your home too!

candle wax melting

Here’s how to heat up your candles flame-free:

Basically, it’ll melt the wax of your candle without an open flame. It melts from the bottom up so it takes about an hour to get the scent, but when it’s all melted, that one candle can provide enough fragrance for an entire floor of your home…seriously!

One of our favorite aspects of it is that the top candle warmer plate is gravity-induced meaning it automatically turns on when you put a candle (or mug) on it. It fits large sizes too, making it perfect for those Bath & Body Works 3-Wick Candles our entire Hip team adores! 😄

You can usually get about a week’s use from each candle. Remove them nightly and restart in the morning, and you can typically do that for about a week before you just can’t smell anything anymore.

There have been some candles that we’ve bought in the past that have amazing scents, but they are so faint that we can only use them in small rooms. With this warmer, even the faintest scents are filled throughout the largest spaces in our homes. 😍

It’s set at a steady 131℉, and you’re candle has to be at least 0.8 pounds for the warmer plate to activate; you shouldn’t have a hard time using small candles other than super small tin ones.

Another great feature is that it’s waterproof due to the thermal conductive glass heating plate, so there’s no need to panic if you accidentally spill something on it. It’s also super easy to clean! 👏

Another awesome benefit is that BESTINNKITS offers a 24-month warranty program, so if you’re not happy with your purchase, there’s no harm in returning it. But take note I’m not the only one who’s a huge fan of this warmer as it has a 4.4-star rating from over 6,000 reviews! ⭐️

It comes in a handful of colors so you can match your decor, too.

repurpose bath and bodyworks candles in the bathroom

We love using candle jars for decorative storage making it incredibly easy to dump the wax and reuse the jar.

We can’t say enough good things about this candle/mug warmer which is why it would make a great gift for family or friends this holiday season — even better if you include a candle or coffee mug for them to get started right after opening!

“I’m in love with this cup warmer, it keeps my coffee warm for hours. This coffee warmer is super easy to use: plug it in, put your flat bottom cup or mug on top, and that’s it. It turns on when you put your cup down and the warmer turns off when you pick it up.”

“It works extremely well as a wax warmer to melt remaining wax in candles after the wick is used up. I purchased two and would buy again!”

I have used this method as well.

I have done this in my work office for years. Everyone says how great my office smells. My office is one of the last ones on a long hall. Even the hallway all the way down you get the great scent.

BRILLIANT!! I can even put this on a timer to go in the morning and off at night and never have to think about it. Have so many friends that are “scared” of burning candles and this would be a perfect solution. Already formulating fun & inexpensive Christmas gifts between this and the upcoming BBW candle sale. THANK YOU!!!!

I have been doing this for years. The scents last quite some time. And when ready to throw out the wax its easier.

Here’s a tip for using the ‘spent’ wax that has lost its scent after a few weeks. Take some kindling or wood for your fireplace, and spread it out on old newspapers outside. Drizzle the warm spent wax over the spread out wood, and you have excellent fire starters for home or camping. Wrap up the wood in he newspapers, and you are set for some cozy evenings! Mom mom used to say, “Waste not, want not”, and I’m a believer!

Yep! I did that back in the day in college—we weren’t allowed to have flames so we used candle warmers. Worked great for my tea, too!

I have been doing this for 10+ years I live in a older home and almost every room has the outlets on the floor. Works like a charm!!

  8. Silja

My youngest daughter melts the wax that is left in her candle jars and pours it into another empty jar with a new candle string in it and waits until it gets hard and then melts more wax from other “empty” candle jars and makes layers of smells that way so she can at least get the most out of all those smells, and she will not waste it that way.
