Think of it as a Magic Eraser, but for your face.

How many of us actually take our makeup off before bed? I, for one, have my best intentions ruined by a single moment of “I’m too tired to wash my face.” And after buying makeup remover wipes, I came across this article detailing just how environmentally damaging these single-use wipes can be. 😬 Not a good look…

But then this handy dandy MakeUp Eraser swooped in to save everything: my bad habit of tossing away makeup wipes AND my bad habit of not washing my face each night.

So why is this MakeUp Eraser like magic? Well, it works with just water. You read that right, no makeup removing solution, not even some special micellar water… just regular ol’ warm tap water.

I’ve tried a similar knockoff makeup eraser product from Amazon, but even at half the price, the quality wasn’t close to the original.

After getting a corner of the cloth damp and buffing the microfiber fabric over my eye, the MakeUp Eraser removed my waterproof eyeliner, waterproof mascara, concealer, and foundation clean off in just a few swipes. 🤯Anytime I’ve tried micellar water on its own to tackle my waterproof makeup, I’d end up with just a smudged mess.

Better yet, you’ll receive a sample size of the makeup removing cloth in your order. It’s perfect to bring with you when you travel or to keep bedside for those “I’m too tired to wash my face” nights.

I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t give you the heads up that this should not be your end-all-be-all solution for cleaning your face. Giving your skin a good scrub with a cleanser and/or exfoliator will help keep acne and other skin issues at bay.

I personally love the Aveeno Clear Complexion foaming facial cleanser which keeps my skin clean of pimple pop-ups without drying out my skin.

Doing away with those harmful single-use wipes, and helping me live my laziest best life make this magic MakeUp Eraser cloth a real win in my book.

I bought some slightly smaller ones from Ulta a long time ago and LOVE them. I can wash one while I use the other. After I take off my day, I sometimes use hand soap to wash it, but usually just let it hang over a bottle of something on my counter to let it dry. They are so soft! Sometimes I do wish I felt my face was “cleaner”, like there was a scrubbier side or something, but overall, I don’t think I could live without these. But also, check Ulta for their cheaper and smaller option if you want. https://www.ulta.com/beauty-smarts-makeup-removing-towel-set?productId=xlsImpprod14541109&sku=2305750&_requestid=3426528

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

You are so welcome! I’m so glad you have one that works as well, Harlo!

  4. Nicole___

I’ve seen these at TJ Maxx for $10!

    • M

Same. Sephora also carries their own brand and they’re less than $20.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, Nicole__! I found it online at TJ Maxx and just added that option!

  5. Trinity

I purchased mine from Sams Club. It came in a 2 pack (black and hot pink) and it was $20 if I remember correctly. Unfortunately I haven’t Seen them there since.
I love mine, and I have since stopped using the disposable make up wipes

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

I was so excited when I bought a bunch for myself and other ladies for Christmas when they were on sale! However, when I showed my boyfriend he laughed and said it was just a microfiber cloth. He then gave me one he bought for the garage from the dollar store (3 for $1) and… It really worked the same!

    • Julie

yes I have been using a norwex one for years 🙂 but I am sure the dollar store ones work the same….all marketing 🙂

    • Jennine

Haha yes it’s microfiber there is regular and split microfiber cloths. The good ones are split 😉
Keep in mind microfiber is synthetic aka plastic, so it’s a toss up environmental wise. If you use it for years I think it’s worth it!

    • Tara

Thank you for sharing that info

I got mine half price thru GMA Deals and Steals earlier this summer. It IS great and love it for travel! Less stuff in my cosmetic bag!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      Yay!

    • llaura256

What is GMA deals and steals? I must know! Lol 🙂

      • rae

Good morning America steals and deals is on the weekday morning show, with the specials they advertise and special code you get a really great deal on trending items.

  9. Alyssa

I LOVE the Norwex ones! Norwex also sells small ones in a 5 pack that replace “cotton pads”. I still use my Mary Kay skin care though. I want that anti-aging!

  10. Jennifer

So this is different than using a wet wash cloth?

    • Raphaele Kuhn

The microfiber is what gets your skin completely clean. A wet wash cloth wouldn’t remove the makeup as well. I love my Norwex cloth. Not sure about other brands but I’m sticking with Norwex 🙂

    • Emily (Hip Sidekick)

Yep! The texture is much softer than a terry washcloth as well. I love how smooth the fabric feels when washing my face, as opposed to the grittiness that can come with a terry cloth. And like Raphaele said, it’s the microfiber that does a great job at makeup removal.

  11. Stephanie

My target sells their brand of these now! 7 individual little ones instead of one big one! They work just the same and are as good of quality!

    • carla

Where in the store do I find them?

  12. Salley Schwartz

My sister turned me on to a large white fluffy cloth in the automotive section of Dollar Tree. It works great for us!

  13. Cindy

Bed bath and beyond sells similar Erase Your Face – 2 pack for 5.99 I picked them up for my daughters stocking at Christmas she loves them

    • Luna

Thanks needed a less expensive one I’ll check it out!

    • Amy

Yes, been using Erase Your Face from Tuesday Morning from years…love them!

  14. Ashley

I had been wanting to try the original, so when I saw them for $5 on clearance at HEB in May I bought 5! I’ve already given one away as a birthday present. I bought some knock offs from Amazon a couple years ago. I do still use them, they’re smaller and great for travel, but they’re much thinner and don’t work as well.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for telling us the difference, Ashley!

  15. 4sproles

    Free shipping at TJ Maxx!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Awesome! Thanks for letting us know!

  16. Summer

How many uses do you get before it needs washing?

    • Emily (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Summer! I like to use it in sections, and given it’s actually a fairly large towel, I can use it for up to a week by rotating to a new, clean area each time I take off my makeup. It may vary person to person though based on how much space you use on the towel per wash.

  17. llaundawillingham

I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade, but these cloths look like nothing more than a microfiber cloth, have you tried just using one of those ? Just saying. This is the frugal me coming out.lol
