Facial cupping de-puffed my face in less than 10 minutes!

Have you heard of facial cupping? Hear me out on this one because I’m obsessed after trying it a few times and I think you will be, too! Whether your face gets inflamed from allergies or you have hereditary puffy eyes, this alternative skin rejuvenation therapy could be the pick-me-up that your face needs.

If you’re about to head to your kitchen to grab some cups, stop right there! For this wellness treatment, we’ll be using a specially designed facial cupping kit from Lure Essentials.

Here’s everything you need to know about facial cupping (including our exclusive promo code to save you 15% on your at-home kit):

So, what exactly is facial cupping???

It’s basically an instant facelift! Cupping actually originated in ancient Egypt as a healing technique to alleviate muscle tension, fade scars, and increase blood flow throughout the body. It’s been used all over the world for centuries to treat various ailments.

While body cupping came first, facial cupping has been a growing wellness trend for quite some time because of its skin-plumping and rejuvenating effects. Our faces naturally accumulate lymphatic fluid and it’s not always pretty, but fortunately, the Lure Essentials Glam Face Cupping System stimulates lymphatic drainage and leaves your skin looking better than ever!

And the best part? You can get a great deal on this same facial cupping system!

Facial cupping is the new botox.

Are your 11 frown lines getting deeper by the day? Facial cupping is here to the rescue and it’ll cost you significantly less than any wrinkle filler would.

Both men and women have used the unconventional technique to reduce wrinkles on the face in place of Botox and other filler injections. If you’re reading this and wondering, “yeah, but does it really work?” The answer is YES! But I’ll get to more of those details in a bit.

Facial cupping increases blood flow, which promotes collagen production and in turn, leaves you with firmer, brighter skin which is exactly what I experienced after using my Lure Essentials Glam Face Cupping System at home.

Results will vary based on age and skin condition, but you can expect to see a pretty noticeable reduction in puffiness and fine lines. 🙌

I tried facial cupping and here’s what I thought…

Once I had my cupping system, I watched a few video tutorials and researched the technique. Apparently you can bruise your face if you use the suction cups incorrectly, so be sure to follow instructions accordingly!

The set comes with 4 cups total (2 large sizes and 2 smaller ones) and a silicone cleansing brush. Coconut oil, jojoba oil, and almond oil are great lubricators, but any type of facial oil will work. Keep in mind, serums and lotions are not recommended for facial cupping as they won’t give you the best gliding motion.

A woman cupping under eye areas

My skin felt firmer and my under-eye bags improved drastically.

After 5-10 minutes of facial cupping, I was definitely a little red, but that’s totally normal and goes away quickly. The first thing that I noticed was how much my under-eye bags had diminished. That alone was enough to have me hooked, but I also loved the way my cheeks and forehead looked!

I’m a bit of a skincare junkie and have tried a number of different products and treatments to help with my dreadful under-eye bags (thanks mom for passing that trait on to me), and I have to say, facial cupping has provided the best results BY FAR. In addition to reduced inflammation, I also noticed that my little smile lines were barely noticeable.

A woman using suction cups to plump lips

My head felt less stuffy and congested from allergies and fluid buildup, and my skin felt pretty amazing overall. You can also use the smaller suction cups on your lips. Of course, I had to try this technique and it actually did make my lips plumper! 👄

While these results probably won’t last for an extended period of time, facial cupping is something that can easily be done at home on a regular basis. My suction cups will be getting lots of use and I have a feeling yours will too once you try it out!

Even celebrities are on board with the cupping trend!

You may have spotted Michael Phelps with some questionable bruises on his back and believe it or not, they’re from body cupping!

He’s not the only celebrity that’s tried this slightly weird wellness treatment though. Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Anniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, and even Justin Bieber have used cupping to flush out toxins and relieve pain.

Here’s what a few cupping enthusiasts had to say about Lure Essentials Facial Cupping System:

“My coworkers started commenting that my face looks refreshed, my husband noticed the difference. And it has only been 3 weeks! I’m officially obsessed! My eyebrows look lifted, my jawline is becoming more defined, the lines on my forehead and the ’11’s’ between the eyes are diminishing and my cheeks and lips look plumped.” – Amazon reviewer

“I’m 61 with uneven skin tone and (obviously) wrinkles. There is a learning curve to using the cups, but it’s not difficult. After just 5 minutes a day for 3 days, my skin tone is markedly more even and clear, I have fewer breakouts, and eye puffiness is much less. I’m using it on my face, neck, and chest. Not only am I seeing results, but it feels like a facial massage.” – Amazon reviewer

“I have just started using this kit and it has already changed my skin drastically. I have very thin, pale, uneven skin with sun and acne marks and these cups have improved it so much in such a short time, I’ve only been using these for about a week or less. My skin is plumper, less oily, way less broken out, and has better symmetry!” – Amazon reviewer

“I love this facial cupping kit. As a Licensed Acupuncturist, I know all about the benefits of cupping and I can say that these are very easy to use and up to par with the standards of facial rejuvenation acupuncture. With just a couple of minutes of use every day, I have seen results on my face! I like to use the set before bed.

On a clean face, I apply coconut oil. I then start using the cups all over my face and neck, sliding them around for 5 minutes before my normal nighttime skincare routine. I feel like it brightens my skin and helps my night cream soak in better. Would definitely buy again!” – Amazon review

Ready to give facial cupping a try?

Before you start suctioning, don’t forget to watch this quick video tutorial so you can master the technique.

Facial cupping do’s and don’ts:

  • Suction lightly around the eyes, so you don’t bruise the delicate skin in those areas.
  • Never let the cups sit on your face or you’ll probably end up with a hickey-like red mark when you pull them off. Keep the cups moving constantly.
  • ALWAYS use a facial oil first. The facial cups should be able to easily slide across your face so apply a liberal amount of your favorite oil.
  • Don’t do facial cupping if you have broken blood vessels or a history of blood clotting.
  • Apply the suction cups in outward and downward motions to drain fluid away from the face, not into the center of your face.
  • For optimum results, use your facial cupping system 2-3 times per week for at least 5 minutes per session.

If you’re eager to plump up that pretty face of yours and smooth out some wrinkles, use our exclusive promo code 15HIP2SAVE to save 15% on your Lure Essentials Glam Face Cupping System now through August 5th on Amazon!

    Has anyone tried this?

    • EmilyMab

Yes the person who wrote this post…

      • Lori

        Lol 😂

        • Prad

Thanks…I suppose I should have said, has anyone else here tried this 🙄.

          • Lori

No worries Prad. We’re keeping the mood light today.

            • Prad

              👍🏼

      • Mtle

        LOL

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Hey Prad! I tried facial cupping for 1 week prior to writing this post. I have also continued to do it every 3-4 days because I liked what I was experiencing. Results may vary for others, but it really helped reduce inflammation/puffiness in my face (specifically the under-eye areas). It also helps with my allergies and draining the fluid that builds up over time. Hope this helps!

    • Tina

I did and they work wonders! My mother in law saw me after I used them for a week and asked me what I have done to look so beautiful. And also she said that I look much younger. I told her my secret. 🙂

      • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

YAY! That’s so great to hear that this system has been working for you and you’ve been receiving such sweet compliments, Tina! 🤗💞

  2. nita

This sounds amazing. Cupping has been around for centuries but never thought about it for facial. Definitely a must try! Thank you!

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Glad you enjoyed this post, Nita! I hope you can try it out soon, it’s surprisingly therapeutic!

  3. Dee

This is some kinda wacky woo. There’s no evidence that cupping works. I come to this site for ways to spend money wisely, not for a post like this where you’re encouraging people to throw their money away on junk.

    • Alli8

Oh Lord. Then on to the next post for you! Buh-bye.

      • huertac1

No kidding lol. Some of us like trying the wacky and unconventional products. Why care what we waste our money on 😂😏

    • EmilyMab

Cupping and acupuncture have been used world wide for hundreds of years. Things that don’t work aren’t usually still used hundreds of years later.

    • snpy496

Where’s your evidence that it’s junk? I don’t understand why you people are so negative about these types of posts. I love to see new products (or old) and their reviews. I move on if it’s not for me. As you should too!!! Keep up the good work hip2save!!

    • Heather

H2S isn’t geared around just what YOU like, they provide a variety of information for ALL their followers. Sometimes I am not interested, or I’ll read it & it isn’t for me so I MOVE ALONG. It is 2020, move away from the NEGATIVITY you’re spewing!

    • pjane

Yeah … this is humorous to me too.

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

I appreciate your feedback, Dee. Our Hip2Save team likes to test beauty and wellness trends so we can provide honest feedback about them to our readers and this post was 100% honest. In fact, I’m still over here facial cupping because I really do love it!
I certainly understand if this topic doesn’t interest you though. Thank you for reading and engaging in our posts!

    • Steph

Oh dear Dee, I think you may need a massage for relaxation…… unless of course you think that’s some wacky woo too 🙄🤣

    • JulieL

It’s a shame that so many feel the need to dogpile onto an individual who is voicing his or her opinion. It’s their opinion. It may differ from yours or mine, but they should be able to have it. The same would apply to all of you – move along from the comment and stop being so negative!

    • cbliss4

Dee, If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all

    • Mtle

      My goodness, chill!

  4. vanmarksarah

What is a good brand to buy?

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Hey there! I really like the Lure Essentials face cupping kit that I used in this post because it’s affordable and easy to use. I have not tried other brands, but this one seems to be very popular and you can also download a free printable cupping guide after your purchase.

  5. Maria

I tried the tongue scraper you recommended earlier this month and love it!! I’m kindof obsessed and my tongue looks and feels a lot cleaner. Also doesn’t effect my gag reflex like a toothbrush does. Interested in this… maybe it will be in the next fabfitfun box!

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Yay, I’m so glad you love your tongue scraper! Isn’t it addicting?! Can’t wait to hear what you think if you give facial cupping a try!

      • nikkidevey1

It would be fun to see a post before the holidays of “favorite things” under $10 (or even $5!) like the scraper to give ideas to people who will be going “favorite things” or white elephant parties 😀

        • Taylor (Sidekick)

Thanks for that suggestion Nikkidevey1! We will definitely keep that in mind.❤️

  6. tbulgrin

Does this leave bruises on your face like how cupping does on the back?

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

It can leave bruises if you’re not careful. I would definitely watch a couple of video tutorials first to ensure you get the technique right. I did not bruise at all the first few times I did it though, so it’s not too complicated. Hope that helps!🙂

      • tbulgrin

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! I’ll have to check it out 😊

  7. Suzanne

I’m a huge fan of cupping! I use it regularly instead of a massage. It is unbelievable how good I feel afterwards! I sleep better and it really helps loosen my muscles.

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

YAS🙌. The benefits really are amazing and I swear it makes your head and sinuses feel so much lighter and clear!

  8. marie

I love cupping, omg for those muscle spasms that you can’t get to let up at all, cupping does the trick! I am so curious about this. I have horrible sinus troubles (am allergic to every type of grass) and am considering it for that reason (of course if my skin looks better too, bonus!) Anyone have any experience with that part of it?

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Hi Marie! I’m so glad you asked because the sinus relief is actually one of my favorite benefits! I get bad allergies as well and cupping really helps relieve the pressure in the T-zone area for me. I hope it works for you too!

  9. Jea

Could you post before and after photos?

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

I’ll try to remember to take some next time I do some cupping! Thanks for asking Jea!😊

    • mrswagley

That’s what I wanted to see. Honestly she always looks flawless. Lol

      • Taylor (Sidekick)

Wow, you are the sweetest for saying that Mrswagley!🤗 These beauty hacks certainly help!

  10. Justine

I appreciate posts like this for introducing new and different products that many of us might not otherwise know about. Hip2Save does the research and finds the deals / provides valuable coupons, and we benefit! Thank you Taylor for doing these product demos and sharing your findings!

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Thank you for the sweet feedback Justine, it is greatly appreciated!🤗 I’m glad you enjoyed this post!

  11. Tina Tina

It doesn’t appear that the set you’ve linked on amazon includes any oil, correct?

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Hi Tina Tina! You are correct and I have updated the post to reflect that. I apologize for any confusion about that. I have also tried facial cupping with coconut oil and it works great and smells amazing!

      • Tina Tina

Thanks, I was just making sure I wasn’t losing my mind.

  12. T

Oohhh I didn’t know this could be done on the face. I have terrible allergies so I am going to try this. Thank you. Unrelated question but what color nail polish are you wearing in the pics? It is a pretty shade.

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Haha thank you, T! The polish is DND gel and the color is #574 Blue Bell. One of my favorite fun summer shades!
Facial cupping really helps with my allergies personally, I hope you can try it and get some relief, too!❤️

  13. s

I would be interested in a pic where you’ve used cupping on half of your face to prove that it works. I’d love to be Convinced because I’m not a believer.

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Thanks for your feedback, S! I will try and get a before/after picture for you all!

  14. Victoria

There is also a glass version. Has anyone tried a glass set? @Taylor does this kit come with the oil that on your pictures? If not, could you post a link to oil. Thank you!

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Hi, Victoria! The kit did not include the oil, but Taylor did use the Lure Essentials brand. Taylor has also used coconut oil if that helps!

  15. Tara

I’ve had fire cupping done on my back and it does leave round “bruises” I guess BUT–I really don’t care–it felt SO SO SO good on my messed up back. I wish I had somewhere to get it done on a regular basis. It doesn’t burn your back unless you have an idiot who puts too much on the rim of the glass. The heat creates a very strong suction pulling your skin into the cup. It’s amazing. I’ve not done any cupping without fire. Face thing seems really odd LOL—the lip thing–my daughter saw a thing on tic toc about suctioning your lips into a shot glass and it does makes them very ridiculous (and can also leave a red circle). The “plump” goes away quickly.

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

You’re totally making me want to try this fire cupping thing now! It sounds bizarre but so cool! Thanks for sharing Tara🤗. And yes, lip cupping is a little strange but it really does plump up your pout!

      • Tara

google it if you get a chance. It’s amazing. If you get a chance to try it—I highly recommend.

  16. Shirley Yeo

Have you tried any other facial cupping products… to compare, by any chance?

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Hi Shirley! I have not tried other products yet. I’m glad I started with this set though, I’ve heard other types of suction cups can be trickier to work with the first few times.

  17. Jessica

I purchased this set last night. I can’t wait to try it! Thanks for the great beauty ideas😁

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

Woohoo, yay Jessica! I hope your first session goes well! You might get addicted like me.😅

      • Jessica

You’re right, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. I used the promo code and they arrived next day thru amazon prime. They are very well made. Like you said videos do help. The sensation is different and yes I did give myself a bruise on my chin. But overall… I loved it!!! Thanks a bunch for the beauty find!!

  18. Dhjack92

The code doesn’t seem to be working?

  19. Dhjack92

Never mind! Said it wasn’t working but did apply?
