Here’s a little about TWIST curly hair products to get you familiar…
Twist by Ouidad is a moisture-focused haircare line featuring products designed to nourish coils, curls, and waves. Even better, they understand that not all curls have the same needs.
Each product is divided into three categories based on how much moisture it provides: essential moisture (one water droplet on the bottle), extra moisture (three droplets), and ultimate moisture (five droplets).
They have products for every curl, and I took their quick quiz to help find the best products for my hair and the type of climate I live in (helllllo, sunny Florida! ☀️). The shampoo and conditioner do a great job of getting rid of all the build-up without stripping my hair and the smell is subtle but pleasant.
I really noticed a difference in my curl definition when adding their 2-in-1 Conditioner & Primer to my hair routine along with the Weather Up Gel.
This combo left my curls extra hydrated and soft all day without feeling like I have too much product in my hair. On day two, my hair still looks and feels great without much need for touch-ups. For the latter days when I do need touch-ups, their Curl Refresh & Conditioning Spray works wonders.
While all curly and wavy hair types have a couple of things in common (for example, textured hair is naturally more dry than straight hair), everybody’s haircare needs are unique to them. - On-Repeat Gentle Oil-Infused Shampoo: Like many people with curls, if I wash my hair too frequently, it gets dried out and frizzy. BUT, that’s not the case with Twist’s gentle shampoo! It smells amazing, and it’s specially formulated not to strip textured hair of its healthy oils while preventing frizz.
- Gimme It All 4-in-1 Hydrating Conditioner: I love how versatile this conditioner is! I could use it as both a cleanser and conditioner and even as a super hydrating base to prep my hair before adding my other styling products.
- Primed & Co 2-in-1 Conditioner and Primer: This primer kept my hair so silky and moisturized. 😍 Starting off my styling routine with Primed & Co kept my curls bouncy & defined without being crunchy or making me feel like my hair is being smothered with too much product.
- Weather Up Weightless Curl Defining Gel: The Weather Up Gel + Gimme It All Conditioner is such a power combo–no frizz, tangles, or sticky, patchy sections of product here! This was probably my favorite product of the bunch, and that’s saying something because they were all impressive.
- Feelin’ Thirsty Curl Refresh & Conditioning Spray: This spray is so easy to apply even on days where I don’t feel like going all-out with styling. It keeps my curls hydrated & frizz-free with just a few sprays & gave my hair some extra volume between wash days.

I donāt know if Ouidad has gotten betterā¦years ago I used their products and it ruined my curly hair. It was thinning and falling out badly. š
So I did the product quiz for my 13 year old daughter last time this was posted and bought the entire line for her hair type. BEST products I have every found for her hair. She has a LOT of hair and her curl pattern and texture varies so it has been almost impossible to find one product her hair likes all over but this has been wonderful. She is now wearing her hair down and it is so beautiful.

I bought these products last time you had them on Hip2Save and I absolutely love them. I have color treated VERY curly dry hair which frizzes at the slightly hint of moisture in the air. I use the Oil I fused shampoo and the 2 in 1 conditioner and primer. Then I use the weather up weightless curl defining gel together with the weather up super light styling lotion ( which is not mentioned here but is fantastic ). I let my hair dry naturally and it is super soft with absolutely no crunch ā¦which I hate and have always had with other products. I cannot recommend these products enough! I originally bought them from the company web site, but Target often has them on sale. Thank you, thank you, thank you Hip2Save for finding these productsš

I have unbelievably curly hair and have tried DevaCurl, Curlsmith, and Ouidadā¦Love them all. I tried Twisty since itās not as expensive. When I first used it the odor that emanates assaults your nose like someone shoved your great great grandmotherās perfume up your nostrils. It was so strong that I had a coughing fit. I thought Iād get used to it, but it is soooo overpowering. I tried it on my daughtersā hair and they couldnāt get it off fast enough. I only use it because I donāt want to waste the money. Maybe this is good to use when I have allergies and canāt breath through my nose.

I bought a large amount of this based on your last write up thinking this would be life changing. My son(at 5 has hair almost down to his butt) and I have found that it was basically a waste of money. It has not really been any different than any other shampoo.

Oh the horrific smell… I was able to purchase 7 different products, many of which you reviewed, and the only scent I could tolerate was the weather up gel by twist but it absolutely did nothing in the humid jersey air. I was so disgusted by the smell, I ended up giving the entire line away. It cost 4 dollars a bottle so It wasn’t full price but the 4 in 1 had the strongest worst smell. It smells like someone put the worst herbs mixed with rotten old perfume and stuck it into massive quantities and the products are so thick you can’t get them out of the bottles. Also, the cowash it’s the same. I don’t think the person I gave them to cared for yhe smell, they literally gave me a full blown migraine after using 1 product, and immediately washing it out. But the odor lingered for so long, I had to scrub my hands with a different shampoo to get it off. I love scented products, but these were so bad that I wasted all of my money, and, it was thee day before the website closed down, so because they were clearances, they refused to give me my money back. I will never buy from ouidad or twist, ever again.
