Need a quick dinner your entire family will love?
If you’re looking for a super quick family dinner idea, try this easy and delicious cheesy ravioli lasagna casserole which uses just three inexpensive pantry and freezer staples. This lasagna-like meal is sure to be a winner at your house!
I personally love how it doesn’t require boiling noodles and you can pull pre-made ravioli right from the freezer to build this meal — no need to cook ravioli ahead of time!
The result is a mouth-watering cheesy casserole that actually does taste similar to lasagna if you opt for a ravioli with ricotta cheese inside. This version is much less work involved though!

Recipe Tips for baked ravioli lasagna:
-
- Customize this ravioli lasagna to your taste by using these three ingredients as a base and then adding fresh veggies like spinach, bell peppers, mushroom, and/or zucchini.
-
- I have made this many times and most recently tried it with adding cooked ground Italian sausage to the marinara sauce before starting. It turned out awesome as well!
-
- One Hip Reader mentioned she made this in her slow cooker by cooking on HIGH for 3-4 hours, adding the cheese on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Easy peasy!
-
- You could also make variations using prepared pesto sauce or Alfredo sauce instead. I love that this idea can be so versatile!
This baked ravioli does not disappoint. After all, easy meal ideas are my favorite!

Our family loves this recipe! You could even add ground beef or sausage in between the layers too.
Yes we do that sometimes too. Very tasty as well!
Thank you so much 🙂
Sure – enjoy!

Does anyone know where to purchase quality frozen beef ravioli? We aren’t fans of cheese ravioli? Thanks!
Aldi and Trader Joe’s have a good selection. You could always throw refrigerated ones in your freezer so the outcome would be the same 🙂
Kroger brand taste the best
I’m confused…do l boil the ravioli first? It says “prepared package” or am l throwing them in still frozen?
Help me l am dense 😕
Use them frozen. Directions probably shouldn’t say prepared….
thank you!
Make your best meat sauce with onions and veggies. Add two 30 cents cans of tomatoe sauce to it and them add it to the bottom of a dish. Top with ravioli from Kroger which taste the best. Add light italian mix cheese. Repeat and add an entire bag of straight parmesan cheese and italian seasoning. Cook on baking sheet 45 -55 min. So good
Oh sorry that just means packaged ravioli – they are frozen and will bake in with the sauce and cheese. No need to boil first.
I make this but add a layer of cottage cheese or ricotta cheese as well to make it more like lasagna. It is amazing!
I just made this in my slow cooker the other day… but I use the low setting for 3-4 hours. Comes out perfect!
Thanks so much for sharing – I’d love to try that next.
I always make this recipe. I’ll never make lasagna again. I dont have to deal with ricotta
It is so funny to see this posting as this is what we are having for dinner. I did add a layer of chicken patties to have a mock chicken parm ravioli bake.
I have made these in the past with alfredo sauce, grilled chicken strips, and broccoli florets layered with the ravioli. I stock up on ravioli when our local grocery has them for a dollar a bag.
Wow such great ideas! Thanks Shannon!
This is called Baked Ravioli at the restaurants on Long Island.

My brothers are the same. They used to eat tomato paste and sauce but won’t even eat that anymore. LOL
Funny, I made this about 2 weeks ago from Pinterest & my 8yr old daughter would not stop praising how good it was It was definitely a quick meal as there was no time spent on prep like the normal lasagna Definitely a keeper

I made it for myself. Will be eating it all week. LOL My brothers refuse to eat tomatoes so I don’t splurge on this very often but it looked delicious.
Oh yum! Yes I had leftovers yesterday for lunch too. Enjoy Pat!
I used the organic Aldi sauce. So much cheaper than Raos. They are both delicious.
