Easy Slow Cooker Buffalo BBQ Chicken Wings
Love using your slow cooker for entertaining?
I do, too! And making these easy, delicious Buffalo BBQ Chicken chicken wings for a crowd is a breeze using the slow cooker. You’ll be super prepared going into football season with this simple recipe!
Buffalo BBQ Wings are winning!
Try combining BBQ sauce and Buffalo sauce. It’s the best of both worlds and results in spicy yet smoky flavorful wings! All I did was season my raw chicken wings, pour in the sauce, and let the slow cooker do its thing! I cannot believe how easy this is.
You can actually sub in your favorite chicken wing sauce, so the possibilities are endless. I decided to combine Frank’s Wing Sauce and a sugar-free BBQ sauce called G Hughes Smokehouse to keep it low carb, but you can definitely use your favorite BBQ sauce instead.
Slow cooker method works great!
I was actually a tad skeptical of this idea thinking they would turn out rubbery, as I usually cook my chicken wings in the oven or by using my air fryer. Boy was I wrong!
The chicken wings turned out super tender and delicious! They were fall-off-the-bone tender, in fact! If you do crave a little crispness to your chicken wings, just broil on a cookie sheet in the oven for a few minutes after slow cooking.
Tailgating Tip: Slow cook and transport chicken wings in the slow cooker to the game. Finish cooking on the grill to caramelize the sauce! YUM!

The best part is your wings stay warm!
I would say this is the biggest advantage of using a slow cooker! After broiling the wings in my oven, I put them back into the slow cooker to stay warm. Then we ate them at game time! Such a winning idea.
Can you cook frozen wings?
Yes, of course! This will add another hour or so of cook time. And If you do cook from frozen, I would season and cook some of the liquid off first. Drain the liquid from the frozen chicken after a couple of hours of cooking, and then pour the sauce over wings and continue.
What a great idea! I never thought to do this! Can’t wait to try it this next weekend for our 1st football party!
