Crescent Roll Mummy Hot Dogs

yield: 8 SERVINGS

prep time: 10 MINUTES

cook time: 13 MINUTES

total time: 23 MINUTES

Ingredients

Directions

1

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

2

Unroll the crescent dough into a long sheet and pinch the seams together. Cut the dough into long thin strips and roll them around each hot dog. Leave a small open space for eyes near the top ends. Place them all on a baking sheet.

3

Bake the hot dogs for 12-14 minutes, until the crescent dough is puffy and golden brown. Remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.

4

Add mustard to the eyes. I find it easier to dip the end of a utensil into mustard and stamp the eyes.

October means it’s time to make all the festive recipes! 👻🎃

Okay, so I know mummy hot dogs are nothing new. 😂 But honestly, sometimes the best Halloween ideas are the ones we already know and love!

These spooky little mummy dogs have been a favorite in my family for years because they are easy, affordable, kid-friendly, and totally doable at the last minute. You only need a couple of simple ingredients, and there’s something about wrapping Oscar Mayer Beef & Pork Franks in buttery crescent dough and turning it into a little mummy that makes Halloween feel extra fun!

They’re also a great option when you want to make something festive without spending a lot of money or making an entire Halloween-themed meal.

Whether you’re serving them for a Halloween party, a school night dinner, a spooky movie night, or just surprising the kids, these are always a hit.

Extra tips for making hot dog mummies:

  • Don’t worry about making the dough strips perfectly even. The messy look actually makes them cuter!
  • Leave a little space between the dough strips so the Oscar Mayer hot dog peeks through and gives it that classic mummy look.
  • Make cheesy mummy dogs! Add a thin strip of cheese around the hot dog before wrapping it in crescent dough for an extra gooey surprise.
  • Make mini mummy dogs! Use cocktail sausages or cut regular hot dogs in half and make bite-sized mummies. These would be perfect for a Halloween party.

I love that hot dog mummies don’t have to look perfect and Instagram-worthy!

They come out looking cute regardless and create a fun memory. You could make a little “Build Your Own Mummy” Halloween dinner bar. Put out the cooked mummy dogs with bowls of ketchup, mustard, cheese sauce, ranch, marinara, and other dips so everyone can decorate and dip their own.

I love recipes like this because Halloween has a way of sneaking up on us! You don’t need special ingredients, fancy decorations, or a lot of time to make dinner feel festive. And you probably already have a pack of Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs and a can of crescent rolls in your fridge – and if not, it’s easy to grab them from Walmart!

Here are even more easy and delicious Halloween snack ideas to try this year!
