Slow Cooker Sausage & Corn Chowder Recipe
Need a slow cooker soup idea?
Fall is my favorite time of the year to make soups and here is an easy one you can put in the slow cooker and have it ready on those busy soccer practice nights. Plus these are common ingredients you might already have on hand in your fridge and pantry. Using frozen hash browns makes it super quick to put together. We’ve been making this for years now after my sister in law was nice enough to share it with me. Today I’m sharing with you.

So warm and cozy! What a yummy soup.
I love easy slow cooker meals like this one. The combination of the sweet corn and savory pieces of sausage is such a great combo and crowd pleaser. There’s nothing more comforting on a chilly day than a great bowl of soup! What’s your favorite Fall soup?

Do they make organic creamed corn, I wonder? I may have to make my own in order to make this recipe to avoid GMO corn. The recipe looks delicious, though!
My favorite soup is loaded baked potato, just made it yesterday. I’m excited to try this one.
I was wondering the same thing about the corn:)
I used my own sweet corn from my freezer that I put up earlier this year. I think it tasted just fine with it, instead of the canned version.
Thanks for this recipe! I don’t like to cook, except in slow cooker. I plan to use regular can corn and real potatoes.
I saw this first thing this morning and started chopping before I even had coffee! I had all the ingredients, but did use real potatos. It’s breaking them down exactly how they should be! Depending on your crock pot you may need to cook it longer, as the frozen would cook faster. However, I just cut them smaller. My Hubs is working from home today and has asked a zillion times if it’s done yet! We are both sampling it and it’s delicious! Thanks Lina!!!
This is in the crockpot now!!! 🙂
I made this today, and husband and I love it. Smells good, tastes good. I made my own organic creamed corn (no GMO corn here) and I did 2 lbs of sausage instead of one. And a whole sweet onion, pureed. And 4.5 ounces of garlic, with 2 cups of organic ff milk instead of water, and shredded our own organic potatoes. YUM.
Just finished cooking this and it’s safe to say its delicious! I did a little tweaking, like sautéing the onions, celery and carrots first, then when I took the sausage out, I drained the grease and poured the corn and soup in to scrape up the flavors in the pan. I did use a fresh potato like everyone suggested as well. That’s what makes cooking fun, no rules 😉
That’s so correct! And I’m so happy you enjoyed! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I’m putting this together now for the crockpot. Details to follow…….
This was a big hit in my mostly male 😉 household. I had no leftovers to put away!! I made this exactly as the recipe said except for a couple dashes of red pepper flakes. We like a little kick to our food. I love that this was so easy and cheap to make but tastes like you spent a lot of time on it. Can’t wait for more recipes!
made mine with a couple dashes of emeril’s bam YUM!
Made this tonight and subbed half and half for the water since we like a richer chowder, and then added real potatoes instead of the frozen hash browns.
Flavor was still dull to me so I added the red pepper flakes, lots of pepper and extra garlic.
BIG hit. Thanks for sharing!
