Make Campfire S’mores in a Bag as a Brilliant Camping & Cookout Idea!
You can’t beat s’mores in a bag as sweet summertime treat. 🤤
Love gooey melted chocolate s’mores? Try s’mores in a bag!
These easy campfire s’mores in a bag will remind you of the best parts of being a kid! They’re a genius cookout and camping dessert idea and a brilliant way to serve s’mores. Just mix warm and gooey roasted marshmallows with small bags of graham cracker cookies! In fact, some even call these traveling s’mores! SO yum!
How fun for camping trips, scouting events, or even outdoor family gatherings this summer! My kids LOVED making s’mores in a bag. This idea is definitely a winner!
Grab these EASY ingredients for s’mores in a bag.
You basically just need small individual bags of cookies like Teddy Grahams, chocolate chips or chocolate bars, and marshmallows. I personally thought using the bags of Keebler Fudge Stripes was even easier because you can skip the chocolate and just add your roasted marshmallows! In fact, when we camp, we just use those full-sized cookies and marshmallows – YUM!
So many ways to roast marshmallows!
I love this easy dessert idea because it’s not only for camping! You can, of course, roast marshmallows over a campfire in the wilderness the old-fashioned way, but a fire pit in the backyard, an outdoor BBQ grill, an indoor oven set to broil, or even a gas stovetop burner will do in a pinch.
Of course, whichever method you toast up your marshmallows, you’ll want to supervise it all, especially with small kiddos.
Hip Tip: We love the marshmallow roasting sticks from Dollar Tree. In fact, here are a few of our favorite camping hacks using Dollar Tree supplies!

Yummy! Yeah those roasting sticks from dollar tree are great!
Thanks Lori! Yep those rock!
I see a theme here: walking tacos, Capri Sun, s’mores in a bag…
You can do sβmores in an ice cream cone. Good for kids because they can just hold the cone and not get marshmallow all over their hands.
Could you elaborate how that works, please? I’m intrigued.
Iβm imagining mini marshmallows and chocolate chips, probably wrapped in foil?
Probably crumble the graham cracker in there tooβ¦
We have a post on the ice cream cone version also! π https://hip2save.com/recipes/campfire-cones-fun-easy-summer-dessert/
Thank you, Lina. I’m totally a visual learner…I get it now! Appreciate the link.
I have never had smores but this doesn’t sound good to me. Just my opinion…..
can’t knock it till you tried it ;-P
I thought the same thing.
Could you use fluff instead of the marshmallows. Like to try them at a school fair day.
Maybe if you prefer it not warm and “roasted” Unsure how that could work though…maybe just use a spoon to scoop some in the bag? Interesting! Let us know if you tried it!
