I am usually all for some fun and lightheartedness, but some people may find the title of this post offensive. There are many adults (not necessarily elderly) or older children that have medical conditions that cause them to drop food while they are eating. (i.e. Parkisons, Tourettes, etc). They are typically well aware of their disorder and its “embarrassing” accompaniments. Promoting or advertising a fake product with the intent for it to save people, or those around them, from embarrassment of being a messy eater is just in poor taste in my opinion. And no, I am not some young left winged liberal that takes offense at everything, I am a nurse that tries to make these people feel normal and not draw attention to something they have no control of.

It’s very kind of you to point out how this can be offensive to some people. I’m sure they face a lot of difficulties that people in good health don’t understand. On the other hand, this post seems to poke fun at the people in good health, the ones that have no excuse for being messy eaters – – they simply are. I’d like to point out that this bib is a legitimate product. Thus, it’s not meant be mean or anything, but a funny way of buying something for people that frequently drop food while they eat. I myself am a messy eater, but prefer wearing an apron over a bib. Overall, I think it’s great that you pointed out a way to make things more inclusive. I simply wanted to give you a heads up that the bib is real and suitable for everyone.
I do understand that it is a real product, for hair trimming. Using it outside of what it was designed for is just common ingenuity, we all do it with many items around the home. My concern came with the description of the “new use” as a way to save the person using it or those around them from the “embarrassment of messy eating”, thus insinuating that those that spill food are an embarrassment to themselves or those around them.
OMG! lighten up!! You know what is offensive? People like you who just go around sites looking for something to complain about! Get over yourself and get off your high horse! As a mother of a disabled child, I still find this funny and don’t get offended by things that are not meant to be cruel. If it offends you just move on! I am a nurse too but I have a sense of humor.

Me too!! the dogs love it when I eat popcorn!! they get plenty for themselves – it never hits the floor! This would be great for when the movie theaters open back up! I usually come home from a movie and take off my bra and popcorn falls out! Of course the dogs are happy again then too! LOL!!
