This goes for most anything that is on etsy that uses copyrighted images too, by the way – not just among us merch. I am all about supporting the little guys, but unauthorized reproduction of intellectual property is illegal, and I take issue with promoting items sold by bad actors. Especially when there are lots of people out there on etsy doing the right thing and following the rules.

Agreed. They even allow for submission to sell legally but most are not authorized sellers. It’s illegal and don’t agree with promoting

90 percent of these items can be found on aliexpress website for an extreme fraction of the cost. These Etsy people purchase off AliExpress and resell on Etsy.

Yes, but quality is a crap shoot and shipping can take months.
Ali Express is a marketplace for individual sellers. There are some fantastic deals but also a lot of fake name brand products, IP infringement and low quality items. Almost everything ships directly from China so it takes 2 months and often the packaging is in Chinese or poorly translated English (so not great for gift giving). Personally, I carefully read the reviews and so far I’ve only bought low dollar value items for personal use. I’ve gotten a variety of cute notepads and some cat-shaped color changing silicone night lights. I (purposefully) ordered a set of fake airpods for $5 for my daughter who wanted to jokingly trick her friends. The seller sent a fake Fitbit instead and didn’t fix the problem after multiple emails.
A lot of the cheaper silicone earbud cases that are on Amazon are much cheaper on Ali. A lot of the merchandise from Jane.com and ebay are on there too.
