These 4 Recipe Generator Websites Make it Easy to Shop From Your Fridge & Pantry!
Trying to figure out what to make for dinner? A recipe generator can help!
If you’re under a stay-at-home order like me, you’re probably trying to get creative with what you’ve already got in your cupboards! I’m trying to shop my pantry and fridge as much as possible, but it can be tricky to know where to start when I don’t have the ingredients for my go-to recipes.
That’s why I love recipe generators like Fridge to Table, Foodcombo, My Fridge Food, and Supercook: I just check off the ingredients I have and I get suggestions for recipes! I’ve already found a couple of new favorite recipes through these sites, and it’s been fun to experiment and get creative.
Dive into a new culinary adventure with these 4 recipe generator websites!
1. Fridge to Table
This website focuses on ingredients you might need to use up in your fridge, freezer, or pantry. I put in three ingredients I want to use up soon: chicken, bell peppers, and rice. I got suggestions from jambalaya to a cashew chicken stir-fry. Yum!
2. Foodcombo
Enter up to 15 ingredients you already have in your kitchen, and Foodcombo gives you suggestions! You can also search by cuisine and get recommendations for ingredient swaps.
Hip Tip: Substitute ingredients like a pro! Check out this great list on allrecipes.com
3. My Fridge Food
With this recipe generator, the more ingredients you can add, the better. You can also filter results to see recipes that are low-carb, low-fat, and/or vegetarian. There’s even a filter for crockpot meals!
When I put in some ingredients from my pantry and freezer, I got this great recipe for Balsamic Vinegar Chicken Strips.
Hip Tip: Love that low carb life? Check out our sister site Hip2Keto for the best low carb and keto-friendly recipes!
4. Supercook
Supercook has both an app and a website! I love how easy it is to add what foods I have and there’s such a wide variety of recipes, too. With the app, you can even dictate the ingredients you have!

I love this idea! I’m curious what kind of results these sites provide… like are they popular rated recipes from sites like allrecipes? Or do some of these sites provide more results than others?
These generators all pull recipes from different sites, including more well-known sites like allrecipes, food.com, etc., and smaller food blogs, too. Most of the recipe results I got linked back out to websites, and most seemed to be pretty well-rated! I also tend to use these generators as a starting point for ideas and if I’m not sure about the exact recipe, sometimes I do a quick google search to see other versions of a recipe to see what people liked best.
Thanks for this great and timely post–I have often wished for a site like these to help me use what’s on hand.
I know! SO useful! You’re welcome!
YES! Love this.
Looking for a site, using my IPhone, that saves all the ingredients in my pantry so I don’t have to keep re entering the ingredients. I can edit as required then enter the type of meal and main ingredient and up comes a list of recipes I can make or by buying one extra ingredient a larger list is generated.
Hope somebody can help
