I’m thinking about a peloton treadmill. I’m curious how people like those.

    • Ank

We initially thought of Peloton, but got the NordicTrack Commercial with ifit plan. It has been amazing! During ifit workouts, it does auto incline based on the map, and also does -2 incline..

      • Sue

We also got the NordicTrack and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! My husband that hates running has even become a runner!

        • Holly

I LOVE my Nordic Track with iFit. I was on the fence about purchasing the iFit but those workouts with the auto inclines are KILLER – in a good way.

For anyone looking for a bike I have an Echelon bike that I just started using and really like it. I’m not a big bike person, so it’s great for me.

    • MUmonkeymom09

Depends on which Peloton tread you are thinking about getting. If you’re thinking about the more expensive, MUCH larger tread that is slats for the running/walking platform vs. belt, I hands down recommend it! I have the Tread + (slats) and absolutely love it. I had knee surgery almost 18 months ago and doing anything on a belted tread just kills my knee now, but the slat tread is so much easier on my joints. It is a hefty price tag, you can finance it for 0% for up to 39 months, but it is worth every penny IMO. I also adore the Peloton classes on both the bike and tread as well as all of their other classes off the equipment. Now, if you are thinking about the newest tread they have, which is just a belt, I honestly would probably go and buy a Sole machine and save the money. If you want the Peloton classes to go along with the tread, I’d still buy the Sole and do the Peloton app for a non-equipment owner for $13.99/mo and just use the app on the other tread.

      • Ana

Thanks! Gives me something to start with:)
NordicTrack is also one we’re thinking about.

      • Natalie

It seems as if people only really want Pelaton because of the name.

If you do a little research, you will see that they didn’t really start selling well until they doubled their price. “Peloton CEO: Sales increased after we raised prices to $2,245 per bike”
People began to think that if it costs that much, it must be a great product. It was the same product all along. Now the name has an association and know other people who have them so they thing they need one, too.
Do the research with what you get with Pelaton vs other great options, like Nordictrack or other brands that have been around for awhile and known for their reliability and social media presence.

We bought the Sole F63 and love it, it is very large though so if space is an issue it may not be the one for you. If you have a Dicks Sporting Goods they have them on display. Has a lot of nice features. HTH

We love our sweet baby sole treadmill!!! We got him during covid, he is part of the family. Seriously, we use it every day♥️ We bought from a sole distribution warehouse. Same exact model was $1400 at dicks and sold out because of covid. We paid $700 picked it up same day and got the warranty too!!! The guy at the warehouse said they have a personal goal to fix anything that breaks on it within warranty within 3 to 5 business days to make sure we get our workouts in. They value our time and fitness as much as we do! I am happy h2s showcased them.

    • JB

Brk – how did you find a distribution warehouse? I’ve looked online and couldn’t find that info. I need a new treadmill and based on your recommendation, I would like to try this brand. Thank you!

      • brk

We found the warehouse in a local Craigslist type ad. I bet you could call their main website and they could help direct you to one in your area. Ours was near slc ut if that helps at all?

        • blu

Could you give where in SLC?

  3. Jen

We have the Horizon T101 and it’s been great. The fan isn’t anything to write home about since it’s small but if you’re just walking, it’ll probably be enough.

  4. Brittney

Honestly if you truly plan to use your treadmill/ bike ect do some research and consider investing in something a bit better. 2 years ago we purchased an intro model treadmill at $600 however the quality was not able to withstand the use. It made it less than a year before it fell to pieces. We have since replaced it with an incline trainer and could have saved our selves $600 from the beginning had I not been so cheap. If you only plan to walk small amounts these would probably be fine.

  5. Rebeccaperson

    Any recommendations on elliptical machines?

    • Juma

I bought a used Sole E25 and love it. I had to give up my treadmill due to a knee issue per my doctor. I love my elliptical cause of the full body workout and it’s helping me with stretching my muscles I haven’t used since I injured my knee. Check OfferUp and Facebook Marketplace are just a few I used to score my elliptical. Good luck

      • Rebeccaperson

        Thanks, Juma !

  6. Dave

I’ve had the Sole F80 for the past 10 years and it’s wonderful. Gym-like quality and feel. Costs more, but well worth it no doubt at all.

    • Dave

I second that. I’ve had my Sole F80 for about 15 years and it survived a couple of moves and it is still a beast.

  7. Kelly

We have had a Sole elliptical for 15 years and still works great. Got a high end treadmill directly from Sole this Fall and love it!

  8. Toni Potts

I love my peloton tread. Worth every penny. Just upgraded the bike plus and so happy I did. Toni dot potts71 at yahoo dot com you have specific questions

    • Nicole

      Yes! Please!

  9. Ali S.

Hip2Save team – Would you also do a post like this on Peloton bike imitators? I can’t afford the real deal, but I need to be cycling more after a knee surgery.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the request! I have passed this along to the team!

    • lstrizz

I agree! I’d love to see that too!

  10. Betsy

We bought a True Form Trainer treadmill last fall. Best decision ever!

This was the third treadmill we have ever purchased and by far the most expensive, but we think it’s worth it.

It’s awesome! It forces you to have good fo while walking, jogging or running. It really is the best treadmill. We figured we paid over $2,000/year for our family Y membership and this will last usucj longer so we felt the cost was worth it. Especially since it’s truly a good workout.

They also have excellent customer service. I highly recommend it!

    • Betsy

My 15 year old uses it to train for cross country, my 10 year old uses it for PT and my 7 year old uses it to burn off extra energy. 😏
      It’s perfect for all ages.

  11. Dollar Revolution

Unless you have 2-3 really strong people and it’s on the ground floor, highly highly suggest paying for them to at least deliver it to the final room it will be in. Installation isn’t bad, but the weight to get it where you need them can make it difficult to move it there.

  12. Kelly

We have had a Sole elliptical for 18 years and it’s still running strong. We got a Sole treadmill during Covid and love it too!! Both are used often!

  13. Janet

Bought my husband a NordicTrack from Costco and he loves it. I love that they deliver and do the setup we had an amazing experience and bought it on sale too.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      Thank you, Janet!

  14. Mary

We replaced our Sole treadmill with a Proform-it came with iFit built in–we do not use iFit–and it is SO annoying to have to flip thru screens before starting workout to bypass it. We really miss our Sole treadmill (we couldn’t find one in Covid times). Our Sole lasted for many years with 4 people using daily. We will be going back to that–without ifit
