I don’t know how these compare, but take a look at Cordaroy convertible bean bag chairs. For less than $400, you can get a huge, super comfy chair that unfolds into a king size bed (they have other sizes too). They’re perfect for movie nights and for guests. They basically take high quality memory foam like the ones in mattresses and shred them up for the stuffing. It also comes with a lifetime warranty. Bonus: since it opens up into a mattress, you can use a waterproof mattress protector on it.
We ordered one for my inlaws’ place so my boys wouldn’t use the air mattress as a trampoline anymore. The more they jump on this one, the fluffier it gets. Win win.

I was curious about the Cordaroy ones too!! Anyone have experience with this brand? Customer service seems incredibly kind and knowledgeable! Just wondering if the bed is thick enough/comfortable for guests or do people really just mostly use as a beanbag?
I’m wondering the same the reviews are mixed some say the bed is lumpy and uncomfortable. I guess it probably depends who you ask might be better for a kid.
It is quite comfortable and very well made. I wouldn’t use it as an everyday bed, but for 2-3 nights, it’s way better than an air mattress. My husband is 6 ft 240lb and he says he prefers it as well.

We love our cordaroy one. The best part is the memory foam mattress in it. It’s so comfy. I didn’t think I could sleep on it with out my back hurting but I actually love it!

I have ordered 3 of the Cordaroy sacs thus far, have owned them for a little over a year and let me tell ya, we love them! They are awesomely comfortable and pretty. The covers are awesome and come in a range of fabrics/patterns. I saw someone above said that waterproof mattress covers work, and I do disagree with that. I thought along those same lines bc a waterproof cover from Cordaroys is about $100, anyhow, I bought a Walmart waterproof cover and it really seemed to hinder the beanbag from filling up correctly. So much so that I took it off. Understand tho, that these beanbags take up a LOT of space (for sizing purposes- I have a 2016 Ford Fusion and the queen sized Cordaroy. I thought well, I’ll just take my Cordaroy to my daughters with me and sleep on that. No. Nope. Never again. I pushed my passenger seat all the way to the front, and STILL I had to physically body slam the bag into my car. It would not fit in the trunk even with the seats folded down). I’ve also ordered the ottoman from Cordaroy and the pillows inside are to die for.
I also have a beanbag from the brand Sumo lounge. And this one…. Doesn’t do any tricks or change into anything, but this one? Is my personal favorite. It’s denser than Cordaroy. It molds to your form. It’s the one I continuously nap on. This brand too, offers a plethora of fabrics/styles/sizes. Both companies offer waterproof covers, refill packs of stuffing and warranties. Both of these companies are literally HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper than Lovesac and every bit as pretty!

We paid $100 on Wayfair for a couch-sized bean bag chair with memory foam

My family has 3 different shredded memory foam beanbags and they are easily the most preferred seats in the house. We have a 7 ft long cylinder shaped one (Wayfair $300) and a 4 ft long flat rectangular one from JAXX (Amazon $79) and a giant marshmallow shaped one from Le Pouf. The best thing about the JAXX beanbags is that they have a waterproof layer between the removable cover and the memory foam so you don’t have to worry about mold if someone accidentally spills a glass of milk or something on it.
I have one of these that we want to get rid of. Can’t get it through the doorway to get it out of the house. Any easy way to do it, besides buying the kit from them to deflate it? Watched a video on YouTube, seems like a lot of work:(
My husband gave me a lovesac for christmas this past year, and it’s easily the most comfortable seat in the entire house. We splurged and got the “BigOne” size with a “wombat phur” cover, and we couldn’t be happier with it! The husband, dog, and I all fit on it… and after the sale price, it wasn’t that much more than we would have spent on a comfy chair. I haven’t tried any of the knock-offs, but felt really good about our purchase from lovesac and would 100% recommend it to anyone in the market for a huge memory foam beanbag!
I would def recommend going to a showroom though before purchasing a lovesac. We thought we wanted a different cover until we actually saw them in person. The staff at our store were super helpful (mall of america), and were very conscientious about social distancing/covid guidelines. My husband and I were the only customers in the store when we went, so we not only had the focus and help we needed but also felt very safe doing our shopping there.
We own this! It’s great and just fine for comfort. However, be prepared to make it very challenging to clean especially if you have a pet that wants to sit on it. Total pain.
I don’t recommend Big Joe brand AT ALL. They have been by far the absolute worst brand we have owned. Their filler “puff balls” are a never ending nightmare all over the floor! Why are they all over? Two reasons, two different bags from Big Joe. First one started going incredibly flat within 2 months of purchase. I assumed their satisfaction warranty would have us covered. I sent original receipt photos, first day photos, current photos… including next to the other bag purchased within one week from that one. After a few attempts to CS, they reluctantly agreed to send me their nightmare filler puff balls. They come in plastic bag, no pour spout, no funnel… recommend you use a paper towel roll to refill the chair. Needless to say, it was a total mess and I was really disappointed in their response. Not one apology, not one offer to replace the clearly faulty chair. Second one, has now recently split at the bottom seam and leaked those puff balls pretty much all over the “relaxing” room! I have no idea what they’ll say about that since it was such a (courtesy) of them to send the puff balls refills. This was my personal experience, but it left a real sour taste so…I recommend you try any other brand listed in this post but not Big Joe.
FYI if you have a lovesac be sure to rotate it if kept in a basement. Also the lifetime warranty doesn’t cover mold. Very disappointing as my kids love it.
I had one of the huge long ones. Dog peed on it. HORRORS! You think I threw it away?!? Heck no! I poured all of the fluff out into an upside down beach cabana tent, stuffed some pillow protectors full of fluff and commenced to washing. After about 7/8 loads I started to rethink my sanity. Finally got it all washed and dried though and no one is the wiser.
These look so comfortable, but I’m fat and wouldn’t want my kids recording me trying to get up and end up in a viral til tok 🤣😂🤣😂

I’d like to suggest a Yogibo as an alternative. Excellent quality and GREAT for kids with sensory processing disorder. My son has had a Yogibo Max for 3 years and on his more sensitive days he sleeps on it. I can’t recommend them enough!

We had a yogibo and after 1.5 years it was totally flat and the cover seam totally ripped apart. We got it on a GMA deal so unless you get it on sale I would not recommend due to the short life we experienced.
the Big Joe ones are made here in my home town in Grand Rapids, MI, by Comfort Research and are a great company, although alot cheaper than Love Sac, they can be a great alternative to someone on a much tighter budget.
We got my daughter a CordaRoy full size for Christmas. It is great as a bean bag, but uncomfortable as a bed. It was out for 2 weeks before Christmas too, and it’s still painful to lay on. The foam is hard and jabs into you. It definitely needs more foam as a bed. We’ve waited, watched all their videos, fluffed and everything a million times.
We have 2 different sizes of the CordaRoys and our kids love them. We have a 15, 7 and 2 year old and they can jump on, fall on, toss around, get their energy out by climbing and basically beating up on the bags and they hold up great. Bonus, the cover is washable. Extra bonus, the inside filler is a memory foam mattress.

I bought the Big Joe brand for my twins and regret it. They went flat within a couple of months and we got nowhere with customer service. My youngest got the one from Costco this year for Christmas this year and it is the most popular lounging spot in the basement. Extremely comfortable!
