Man looking concerned about Chik-Fil-A sauce

A nationwide Chick-Fil-A sauce shortage? Say it ain’t so! 😩

If you’re a fan of Chik-Fil-A or more importantly, their signature dipping sauce, now might be a good time to snag a bottle or two from Walmart or Target as an e-mail was recently sent out outlining details of a nationwide shortage – YIKES!

Due to issues with their supply chain, Chick-Fil-A has opted to enact the following sauce limits at their restaurants:

  • 1 sauce for an entree
  • 2 sauces for a meal
  • 3 sauces for 30-count nuggets

Additional restrictions have been placed on sauces when ordering through a delivery service like Uber Eats, Doordash, Grubhub, or Postmates who all offer a choice of only one complimentary sauce per meal or entree.

It appears that catering orders will remain unaffected by the sauce shortage as those large catering orders include the full-size bottles.

Feelin’ saucy?

If you don’t mind paying for your sauce, you should be able to purchase the 8oz bottles of Chick-Fil-A sauce with your order for anywhere between $2.50 to $3.59

With that being said, if you’re going to pay for it, it’s certainly a much better value to buy a bottle that is double the size from Walmart for just $3.43 or Target for $3.99!

guy trying chic fil a dump meal

Have you heard of the Chick-fil-A dump meal? 🤔

If you’ve spent any time on TikTok lately, you’ve probably seen people participating in a unique form of meal prep that can only be described as making a “dump meal.” If you’re not familiar with this trend, it involves ordering common menu items from a fast-food restaurant, dumping them into a container, and eating them mixed together as a meal.

The most recent “dump meal” to achieve viral status comes to us courtesy of Chick-fil-A. It’s a zesty, saucy, buffalo chicken mac and cheese, and the internet is divided on whether this combination of CFA menu items should be eaten together.

This DIY menu hack has been gaining a lot of traction on social media, and we’ve been curious to see if it would live up to all the hype!

steps to making a Chic fil a dump meal

We sent Stetson and his brave stomach out to test the process of making this Chick-fil-A mashup and to sample the end result. Keep reading to see what he had to say about his experience making the DIY Chick-fil-A buffalo mac and cheese!

“Be forewarned: This process does require a little bit of planning. You can’t just cruise through the Chick-fil-A drive-through unprepared for your dump. You need to bring a food storage container with a lid. Since I was out running errands when the urge struck me, I swung by Target to grab a container like this.

Then, I rushed off to Chick-fil-A. I rolled into the drive-thru and placed my order: an 8-piece nugget, medium waffle fries, a small mac and cheese, one buffalo sauce, and one ranch sauce. I pulled around to collect my food and then settled into a parking spot. I’m a firm believer in responsible dumping, and this is a two-handed task that should NOT be attempted on the freeway!

When preparing your Chick-fil-A parking lot dump meal, the order of ingredients doesn’t matter. I took my new container from Target and added the nuggets, fries, mac and cheese, and sauces.

After adding all the ingredients to my container, I sealed the lid tightly and gave the whole business a good shake. Then, I opened the lid and took a critical look at the mixture inside.

I went in for my first bite and – wow! 😱 I found myself clearing out this bowl like I hadn’t eaten all day. For real my friends.”

What are the best sauces? No CFA in my area, but I’m curious to try the bottles. Thanks!

    • Andrea

      The Chick-fil-A sauce is delicious!

    • Susan

      Polynesian all day long

    • Holly C.

Polynesian is our favorite. We like to add a little hot sauce to it to give it a kick. 🙂

Was that comment really necessary to put on this post that they were just trying to inform people?

      • Mama1020

        Haha

      • Lel

        It’s a joke.

More like not even a problem for me. I just spent exactly 57 minutes in line at Panda Express (still no dine in and apparently no current pickup at that store). Get to order & no drinks or cookies in stock so kids just get 1 entree & side. Will be awhile before I wait that long again with crying kids just to be disappointed.

There is certainly no shortage of it at my local Walmart. Bottles and bottles of the original sauce and Polynesian.

I was wondering why they started getting stingy with the sauce in the app last week. But they are limiting the other sauces too. Not just Chick-fil-A sauce because I usually take several ketchups with a meal. It’s the only condiment I use so I use a lot when I do eat it.

    • Karen

I noticed that too when I placed an order last night. It doesn’t make much sense.

  5. Brenda

Walmart has their own brand that is pretty comparable, chicken dipping sauce

    • Denise

Yes! The Great Value Chicken Dipping Sauce tastes so much like it!

  6. Crys

There’s a sauce shortage but you can buy a whole container with your meal? This will be a new standard for them, not allowing you any extra dipping sauce and forcing you to buy a bottle. The stuff corporations will do to make an extra buck.

  7. Lana

And once again the sky is falling.

    Waiting for the snarky responses……

  8. casey-4

Walmart just started carrying full size in my Colorado area.

  9. Ames

I’m starting to see a lot of random shortages lately. Chicken strips at DQ, and various ones at Starbucks in my area. Make sure you have enough of everything you need at home folks, just in case!
PS..The copycat versions taste closest to the real deal with old west BBQ sauce 🙂

  10. Jill

Thank goodness I just bought 2 bottles the other day

  11. Mel

Maybe they’re just putting this information out there to boost the sales of their bottles of sauce.

    • Crescent City Couponer

      Mel,

      That’s my theory, too.

  12. MommySpendsLess

I’ve always asked specifically for “one Buffalo and one ranch” and been surprised when they tossed 2 or 3 of each into my bag… This doesn’t surprise me much since most other places charge for extra sauces.
Will Chick-fil-A let you get an extra for a small fee?

Bottles are OOS at my Walmart
