What is “Clear the List”? It’s a nationwide movement to support teachers by purchasing items for their school supply lists.

School will be back in session soon (some districts start in just a couple of weeks!) and teachers are already working hard to prepare their classrooms for the new 2024-2025 school year. This includes stocking up on school supplies for their students!

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and many school districts and families are struggling. This leaves many teachers to pay for school supplies themselves.

Teachers always go the extra mile for their students, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them by giving back and helping to fulfill their supply lists!

You can help by donating items from teachers’ Amazon shopping lists!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list, and then share their lists publicly. Anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list, and after donating, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Even better, if you post your list on social media and tag Amazon with #clearthelist, you may find that your list is cleared BY Amazon! So cool!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu and name your list.
  • Hover over the three dots More menu on the right, and click Manage List to update your shipping address (this is important!) and other preferences like whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse for products on Amazon and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to share your teacher list in the comments below so that readers can help clear the list! 🙌

My name is Christina Veillon. I’m teaching 4th grade reading, writing, & social studies. This will be my 15th year of teaching. I’m looking forward to a challenging yet fulfilling year as it’s my second year at my current campus working with a very diverse group of students & my first time serving as an official mentor for a new teacher (helping others is my greatest bucket filler). Thank you. 🙂

I am a third year Pre-K teacher that is looking to clear a few items off of my list. I am a former elementary teacher of 20 years where I taught Kindergarten and 1st grade. With that being said I am building my classroom one year at a time like I had to do with my elementary classrooms. I would appreciate any help in doing that. Blessings and Smiles! ❤️

I am reentering the classroom after being in adminstration the last three years. I am so excited to be teaching fifth grade at a title one school in Virginia. I can’t want to make and enjoy a wonderful classroom community again. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/34GAVS326S35G?ref_=wl_share

Hello, I’m Mrs. Houghton and I will be teaching reading to students in kindergarten through fifth grade in a small rural Title 1 district in Michigan. This is my eighth year of teaching but this is a new role. We have many basic items on our list like lysol wipes and cardstock, as well as organizational supplies and games. We would greatly appreciate any item off our list. Thank you for taking the time to look.

I’m a first year elementary art teacher! I’ve been a stay at home mom for 13 years, but had to jump on this position when it opened up. I don’t have a teaching degree, and am considered support staff, so my salary will be embarrassingly low….making it obvious I’m not doing this for the $$! 😜

Hey everyone! My name is Gretchen Bless and I teach 4th Grade Language Arts at Edgewood Intermediate School in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is my 3rd year teaching, and I cannot wait to get year 3 started! My students and I appreciate any help, thank you!

I’m a teacher at a Title 1 school in Tennessee that serves a massive population of EL/newcomer students. As such, you’ll see not just educational items on my wishlist, but items like snacks, jackets, shoes, and more as many students come to us with little to no belongings. Anything helps! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3IIUX5Y1MHAKF?ref_=list_d_wl_ys_list_1

Hello! I’m a high school Special Ed teacher who is trying to start a “take what you need” cart for my students. The goal is to fill the cart with basic hygiene items in order to help our students with essentials they may not have the means to otherwise obtain. Any little bit is helpful.

This is for my classroom which is also the Library/Media Center for the middle school. This room and I have multiple purposes in the day. Everything on my list is meant to make my students more comfortable (and life a bit easier for me)
