Kiddos can bowl for FREE this summer! 🎳

School is out soon for summer, but as we parents know, the kids get bored very soon! If you’re looking to get your kids off their devices and out of the house, look no further because we have a great option for you – and it’s free!

The annual Kids Bowl Free Program offers kids (whose age does not exceed the limit set by the participating bowling center) the opportunity to bowl absolutely free throughout the entire summer – that’s a $200+ value per kiddo!

This is a fun, cheap option to get you and your kiddos out of the house for some good old-fashioned fun! The program is offered at over 1,500 bowling centers in the US and Canada, so there is a good chance you’ll have this program at a bowling alley near you!

Note that if purchasing a Family Pass, you can save an additional 30% off with code SUMMER30 at checkout.

Each child will snag coupons for two free games of bowling daily throughout the entire summer! To register your kids, head over here and select a bowling center near you.

Note that when you click on a bowling alley location, you will either see a registration form or a place for you to submit your email to be notified when registration is open at that particular center. Not all locations are available to register at this time.

But wait, there are more ways to save!

The Kids Bowl Free program also offers a great deal for parents and older siblings! You can snag an optional Family Pass which allows up to four adults to bowl two free games right alongside the kids all summer long!

After you sign your child up to bowl for free, you will be directed to a page offering Family Passes – you do not need to purchase this for your child to bowl free as he or she has already been signed up (look at the very top of the page where it says congratulations). This is purely an option to get the rest of your family discounted bowling so you can play along with your child.

So fun! I never would have known about this and we have a participating location 5 min away. I added the adult passes too. Thanks for sharing!!

Yay! I’m so glad the post was helpful to you! I hope your family enjoys their summer of bowling! ๐ŸŽณ

    Are shoe rentals included?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! It seems that the shoe rental fee can vary. Here is what I found listed in the FAQ.

“You can see the shoe rental options for your center on the right hand side of their registration page.

Each center is different. Some even offer an unlimited shoe rental pass for the summer. You may want to call your center about this option and you can find their telephone number on the registration page.”

Have you considered extended the age for special needs kids/young adults?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great question, Laura! You could reach out to customer service to ask that if you wanted to click through the link above, then click on FAQ, and then click on “contact”. There you’ll be able to send them a message on this. Hoping they can help! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿค—

I love this – we purchased the additional family pass the year before COVID and never went once (lol) but we signed up again this year (just this kids this time) and are so committed this time ๐Ÿ˜‰ HOWEVER – the bummer is the shoe rental cost that is NOT covered. Still a decent deal, but our shoe rental is around $5. I am always on the lookout for cheap kids bowling shoes – but have never seen any. I did find $25 pairs online, but I am not certain each kid would actually bowl atleast 6 different times to make it worth it in one summer. Anybody know of a bowling alley liquidating their kids shoes, or a used online source?

    • V

Would you mind telling me where you found shoes for $25? Thanks in advance. A couple of summers ago (pre Covid) we went fairly regularly and buying shoes is the way to go for us.

      • MJ

I found the best price for youth shoes on bowling.com (I just checked and the cheapest price is now $32.99 – says free shipping if that helps!)
        Good luck!

I signed up a month ago. Excited to do it with my kids but man do they send a lot of emails ๐Ÿ˜†

Thank you! I ended up spending $30 and bought the pass for the family. Great INDOOR summertime activity when it gets hot!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! SO true! You’re very welcome, Kate S! ๐Ÿ’ž

Thank you for this! I’ve been waiting for it to come around again and I used the code for our family pass. Our closest center is only doing it monday-friday during working hours, which is a bummer… but the next closest has weekends.
