What is Kindle Unlimited?
Kindle Unlimited is an Amazon service that allows subscribers to browse and read over 2 million eBooks, audiobooks, and current magazines! The huge selection of eBooks includes great reads for kids, teens, and adults of all ages and interest groups. It’s like having a library right at your fingertips!
If you have been wanting to implement some bedtime reading for the kiddos, this would be a great trial run to see how reading from their Kindle every night goes! If they like it, you can continue to keep your subscription! There are so many children’s, tweens, and teen titles available, that they will never run out of choices even as they grow older and their interests change!
I absolutely LOVE my Kindle Unlimited Membership! When you start to add up how much books cost it’s easy to see that you’ll save if you read a few books a month! Plus, with a free trial, there’s really no downside. You can have 10 books checked out at a time so I usually grab a few for myself and a few for my daughter! It’s like her bookshelf is constantly rotating because we’re always finding something new to read! – Hip2Save Sidekick, Chelsey

If you don’t have a Kindle, keep in mind that you can still read books on your computer or other mobile devices with the FREE Kindle Reading Apps found here.
Is there a way to add this to a current subscription or is this just for new members?
Hi CA! Unfortunately, both of these introductory offers are only available to new Kindle unlimited members. If you’re looking to save on an existing membership, one of our readers commented with a way to save almost 50% on a 2 year subscription using the gift subscription option which may be something to consider if you plan on being a long-time user.
FYI, I’ve had kindle unlimited for awhile. A friend mentioned to me that I can gift myself a subscription for 24 months and it’s only $143.80. So I’m getting almost a whole year free. You just go into a browser not the app and search kindle unlimited gift subscription and then just put in your own email for the gift subscription.
Thanks for sharing, Lisa! Good to know what has worked best for you!
my current Kindle membership (promo) is going to expire in a couple of days. I just went to cancel it and I got a new offer for $ 1.99/3 months. Worth it!
Awesome! Glad you were able to score a new promotion, M.! 🙌💞
Do you know if I get the Kindle unlimited and download like five books and don’t read them all within the promo period, then cancel before renewal. Do the books disappear from my library?
Hi Emily! If you cancel your Kindle Unlimited membership, you’ll lose access to your borrowed titles at the start of the next billing period, which will be within a month for most people. Hope that’s helpful.
You will lose the books but if you keep the WiFi off your kindle device they’ll stay downloaded until you turn the WiFi back on. I keep mine in airplane mode so I don’t lose my borrowed library books until I’ve finished them even though they’ve technically been “returned” already
