1. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
4.8 stars
"I can't even express how much I love this book! I didn't want this story to end!"
- Reese Witherspoon

2. Becoming by Michelle Obama
4.9 stars
"I started reading and couldn't put it down, finishing it literally 24 hours after delivery. Michelle Robinson Obama's story is one of the challenges met, hard work tempered with good sense, and above all, how a few key people in life can support a young girl and elevate her, so that she, in turn, can elevate others. It is a wonderful, heartfelt, true story of HOPE in a world gone far too cynical."
- Linda

3. Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover
4.7 stars
"Parts of this book are absolutely amazing. Jaw dropping. I was fascinated and engrossed the first 2/3 or so. The things she overcame are remarkable.
Then I feel like the focus and the tone changed and she was barely skimming over her education and focusing on - in my opinion - a few too many personal details with her family. It seemed vengeful to me, as though it were written in part as a way to punish them. Her family is INSANE and she was absolutely, horrifyingly mistreated by some of them. Maybe she should have pressed charges against her brother. But some of the conversations and experiences she has with her parents and siblings later in the book as adults are not for a worldwide audience, in my opinion. I am probably in the minority on this.
I feel for her- she clearly has many issues. She is still so young, and many of these hard events happened so recently. It seems she is still processing things and is still very hurt. It will be interesting to see what she does next and how her career unfolds."
- Mom of 2

4. Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis
4.6 stars
"This was a part of my summer of bettering myself—getting back into exercising, meditating, and filling my cup up with goodness. I recently had to make some hard choices about unhealthy relationships I had and felt like I lost some friends in the end. Picking up this book is filling that void and reminding me of what a treasure I am and how to rebuild after a hard year."
- Claire

5. Girl Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis
4.7 stars
"The 'Girl Wash Your Face' & 'Girl Stop Apologizing' books will change your life! I never realized the things I was or wasn’t doing that were bringing me down. Since reading this book, I have implemented changes within myself and my home and could not be better. You can’t pour from an empty glass!"
- Alana

6. The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman
4.8 stars
"I always heard people talk about this book but never thought 'we' needed it. We’ve known each other since I was 16 years old and we were best friends before lovers so I thought we had this relationship thing down. But boy was I wrong! I learned that what I thought was his best way to receive love, wasn’t and the same for him with me.
Since reading it, we now know little things to make each other happier or what is 'a waste of time'. We also have implemented these same actions with our kids. One kid loves quality time and will choose that over a toy and the other is acts of service."
- Megan

7. It's Not Supposed to Be This Way by Lysa TerKeurst
4.8 stars
"This book has changed my life. After my long term relationship ended, I was feeling broken and so hurt. I wanted to grow closer to God but I also didn’t know why he would do this to me. This book really puts everything into perspective.
The author’s disappointments that she explains throughout the book are very relatable. I recommend this book to anyone who has felt like their world has been turned upside down by disappointments and needs help in understanding why these disappointments are important to our plan that God has for us."
- Kate

8. Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
4.4 stars
"My favorite psychological thrillers are ones that leave me on the edge of my seat, but also have a "somewhat" happy ending (one that I'm satisfied with, anyway.) This book did not disappoint. I read it in 2 days and only because I forced myself to give my family some attention. So well written and will keep you hooked. I liked that there were no hidden characters, as there so often are in thrillers, and you can somewhat figure out the mystery on your own, but then are still duped in the end. Brilliant."
- Megan

9. Dogman: For Whom the Ball Rolls by Dav Pilkey
4.9 stars
"My 7-year-old loves these books! He sits there and reads the whole book cover to cover, laughing the entire time because he finds them just so hilarious! Must buy for any kid!"
- Michelle

10. The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin
4.8 stars
"I have gifted this book to a few different friends. It's such a sweet and inspirational book plus, you can never start them too young! I think it makes such a sweet baby shower or first birthday gift, and every parent or parents-to-be that I've given it to ends up telling me how much they love reading the book with their little one!"
- Sara
