Any toys for pre-teens or teens?

  2. Katie P

My 5 year old boy is obsessed with anything Treasure X!

    • Cassie

I saw a big pile of Treasure X on clearance at Target. I would hurry on over! (I am in FL)

    • Cassie

Also, Bestbuy.com has them on clearance.

  3. snezhinka

You do realize that most if these ‘interactive’ toys end up in the trash real soon right after the holidays are over. Save your money and listen to your own kids, KNOW your own kid enough to save up and get that special gift for him/her. The list above is just promoting the new toys that vary slightly each Christmas season.

    • Rae

I don’t know if they will end up in the trash. For us no… I did end up donating a very expensive toy last year though that was a top toy because it ended up not getting played with. I think someone else will enjoy it though. If my daughter has no idea what the toy is I tend to stay away from it, and since she doesn’t watch youtube or TV she doesn’t know what most of the newly popular toys are… She ends up knowing later (after they are no longer new, and now much cheaper) after she’s played with them at a friends, and it helps me decide if she really would like the item.

      • Nancy Purcell

I work at a toy store in ct. Lol and treasure x are so hot right now

    • Cassie

      In our family’s case, you’re 100% correct

    • Kim

snezhinka, I completely agree with you. I caved in a bought one of those big Hatchimals last year. It has been played with for a total of maybe two hours since Christmas. The items that my kids play with 98% of the time are legos (big/small), blocks, play-doh, art supplies/crafts, books, board games/puzzles, and playing cards. I’m going to keep it simple this Christmas.

  4. J.H.509

My daughter got the Boppi Booty shaking Llama for her birthday and loves it. It doesn’t do much but dance but it’s cute. She also received the fortune cookie blind bags and the bracelets are nice. Now I’m stumped what to get them for ChristmasΒ―\_(ツ)_/Β―

  5. MaK88

My daughter is 9 and moving out of the toy stage. Im so sad but its also nice to see her want things like a desk, lamp, and chair for her room vs toys that dont make it a year.

    • AMH

How about a cute planner and stickers for 2020? Dollar Tree has great planner stickers.

  6. Abby

If anyone is looking for the Shopkins, I would jump on them as soon as you see them. My daughter asked for them and when I was looking, Amazon, Target, and Walmart were sold out at the time. I finally found some at Kroger of all places.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the helpful warning, Abby!

  7. nikis22

    • Lindsey Barney

My daughter loves Magic Treehouse boos. They are fantasy.

    • Betsy

My 8yo enjoys Anne of Green Gables, the Historical American Girl books, Betsy, Tacy series, the new Spirit books (based off the TV show – surprisingly well written), Judy Blume is always a favorite as well as the Little House series.

    • Kristen

Guts! It’s a graphic novel but my daughter loves it!

  8. Jennifer

Although most of these toys would be things I wouldn’t buy, I do like scrolling through these sorts of lists because I do come across 1 or 2 things that I didn’t know existed that my boys would like. Treasure X with slime & guts? Check. Interactive legos that come in haunted themes? Check. Thanks.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Awesome! You’re welcome, Jennifer!

  9. Robin

Here I am a grown woman without any young children. I do have some grand kids and this is what got me on the site. But then I ended up watching videos linked from the new toys above on Amazon.
