I have been able to get these promotions every year by alternating between myself and my husband. Technically we have to go to customer service each year to get a new card. But it’s worth it for a good deal.

I believe after you activate your membership you can head into the club and upgrade at customer service for the difference between the two 😊 Also keep an eye on future posts as we do share discounted Plus memberships when they become available!

Curious if people prefer Costco vs Sams? (was there a post comparing them?) Both are about the same distance away.

Here’s my opinion…. we had a Costco membership about 4 years ago then we took advantage of the free Sam’s membership offers for 3 years in a row. We bought the Costco Groupon offer recently (still haven’t received our $40GC yet and it’s been at least 6 weeks) and I am really not liking Cosco, like at all! I feel like the prices are much higher than Sam’s for what we buy, like meats and baked goods. Sam’s has really good everything bagels and can buy 1 package of 5 or 6. Costco… you have to buy 2 separate packages then pay double. Things like that. I think I’m going to just cancel the membership but I’m not sure if I go through Groupon or Costco to do it.
I have done both Sam’s and Costco. In my opinion, Sam’s is cheaper to join and the products are cheaper in many cases but the product selection is Walmart quality. Costco is more expensive to join and the products are often more expensive but the product selection is higher quality in many cases more like Whole Foods. Costco carries a much larger selection of healthy foods.
We did this deal a few weeks ago. There is no Sam’s Club near us, but there is one on the way to my sister. We belong to Costco since the 80’s.
There is no physical card. Beware- we wanted to use the gas station and you have to go through the app. After trying all ways, some man was nice enough to scan his card. I went into the warehouse and explained my problem, and they still refused to give us a card. Not worth it for me to install the app.

Does this membership allow you to order online with free shipping, or do you need the plus membership for that?
Becky, this membership will allow you free shipping on a few select items but for free shipping on most items, you will need to upgrade to the plus membership.

Signed up for a Sam’s membership here and received the emails for the gift card and my new membership number, however the promo code they gave me to complete my registration online via the link they sent in the email did not work. Tried several times and it did not work either time. Beginning to think this is a hoax or a scam and will be contacting my bank for a fraudulant transaction if it does not get resolved rather quickly!

I don’t know why they can’t just make it easier. I always have trouble getting my rewards for these kind of membership deals. They always say oh it’s just gonna be on there well then why can’t I see it? it’s 2022 they should be able to make it so that it shows as a credit on your account that you can actually see. It’s so frustrating to have to jump through hoops to get these things.
I recently did the cheap membership at the store then paid to upgrade. Received my $40 credit when I checked out at the customer service counter so they could be sure I got the credit. I did. So easy at the store with customer service being accountable and very helpful.

How long does it take to get the 45 is that with your first purchase
It is with your first purchase. Note that it usually excludes instant savings items, but it should take the $5 off your first purchase of $45 or more.
It took them 6 months for us! After repeated calls and emails. It was ridiculous. Customer service both at the store and higher was severely lacking. We won’t be renewing. The product choices and service are far better at Costco. The last time we went to Sam’s there was an actual fight, almost riot, over Jasmine rice being sold.
Has anyone done the Unidays deal…for themselves or their college kid? I went through the whole verification thing and did Costco and Sam’s but still haven’t received any promo cards….(Our Costco is crap btw so only did it for the discount 🤭🤣)
The last time I signed up for Sam’s membership I didn’t get the credit that I was promised. I had to contact them several times before I finally got it. It was quite the hassle.

I was able to sign up using a different email. My membership expired 2 months ago. I had problem with app remembering my old information. Only way to change information was to go to their website and changed my email and it changed information on their app. I went to Sam’s day after I bought it and membership had no cards gave me piece of paper to use. The $45 plus tax came off of my order automatically I went through self check out.

We went to customer service to open a new account, but they told us to get out of line and do it online and then come back to customer service and get a temporary card (receipt) to use that day. She said the app is your new card so they didn’t give us a physical membership card, which I find frustrating. Darn digital society! I have family members who do not have smart phones. The employee told us it would take 48-72 hours, but when we purchased a few things at self check-about an hour later and the $45 came off at the check out Also, you need to look for automatic renewal on the app and uncheck it if you don’t want that set up on your account.
