Does anyone know how to get a Southwest promo code? Makes me crazy every time I purchase a ticket and I see that box to enter a promo code and I don’t have one!!!

    • LeAnne

They aren’t deal or promo codes. They’re Comp codes. You get them if they have had to issue you a “love voucher” due to a mistake or canceled flight. So it’s not like you’re missing out on additional savings.

      • SueJo

        Thank you for the explanation!

How is SWA with refunds/partial on wanna get away fares? The flight I booked 3 weeks ago is now almost $700 cheaper!

    • MU

Contact Southwest. My experience: They will cancel your flight and give you “travel funds” that you use towards your other flight. They remaining travel funds usually need to be used within a year.

      • Tiffany

You dont cancel it, you type in your reservation code and modify it. You will get the difference back as a credit

It is very easy to rebook it online…. go to manage your flight, then cancel/change, then simply check the leg of the flight you want to change. You won’t be in danger of losing your flight, and the difference remains useable for a year from when you booked originally. You need to keep a record of the original confirmation number with the balance written down somewhere.

    • Maria

Call Southwest with your confirmation number. They will adjust your Fare with a voucher good anytime for up to a year.

SW is AMAZING with changes! We prefer flying with them because of this and the fact that they give you 2 checked bags for free. Most flights actually allow you to change online, but since you’ll be owed a significant amount of money I would call

    • chenga57

Fantastic customer service!!! If you don’t get a refund you’ll get credits for future flights. They are always so kind

    • SavingsMama

They are amazing! You won’t get money, but will get a credit. Either way, we’ve never incurred any cancellation or flight change fees w Southwest and choose them for this reason.

It keeps taking me to hotels even after I put in my flight dates.

Try going directly to southwest’s site.

When I click on the links I’m sent to Airfare Watchdog websites and not to Southwest Airlines.

    • Angie

…and it is not easy to use. 🙁

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Sorry for the confusion! The links have been updated if you wanted to check again!

  8. miaam

Why are we being sent to airfarewatchdog’s site?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! Thanks so much for commenting. We have updated the links in the post. So sorry for any confusion.

  9. ann

Personally don’t love this feature of going to 3rd party site

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for your feedback, Ann. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. We have updated the post links if you wanted to check back again.
