Love Starbucks?

We’re sharing the easiest Starbucks Frappuccino hack ever! Even though a lot of their stores are reopening, sometimes you just want to make an easy Starbucks drink at home.

Here’s how you can actually freeze the Starbucks Frappuccino bottles to mimic the frozen blended beverage!

Thanks to Delish.com and innovative TikTok-ers, we all just realized we’ve been drinking these popular Starbucks Frappuccino bottled drinks the totally wrong way.

In fact, if you freeze them for just a few hours, give them a good shake, and open it up, you’ll discover a perfectly icy cold Frappuccino drink! 😍 In all fairness, the hack results in a frozen beverage that is a little bit icier than your traditional blended frappuccino you’d get at the cafe, but you just can’t beat the savings!

At Starbucks, a tall (12 oz.) blended frappuccino will run you $4.25, whereas the frappuccino bottle (13.7 oz.) at Walmart is only $2.68. That’s almost 40% in savings AND you’re getting more drink from the bottled version!

Here’s how to make an easy Starbuck’s Frappuccino at home:

Step 1: Shake up the bottled frappuccino.

Giving the bottle a good shake can help ensure even freezing while it chills in the freezer.

Step 2: Place the bottle in the freezer for 2 hours.

Store the bottle upright in your freezer for 2 hours. This is based on the bottle already chilled from the fridge so you may want to add an extra 20-30 min to freeze if yours is room temp.

Step 3: After 2 hours, remove the bottle from the freezer and shake vigorously.

Now it’s time to give the frappuccino a good shake. It will likely feel like it is already frozen solid, but after some vigorous shakes, the frozen portion will loosen and kind of blend in the bottle. Keep shaking for about 30 seconds or until the contents are moving around freely in the bottle.

Step 4: Place back in the freezer for 1 more hour.

This is the final freeze to make sure your frappuccino is nice and blended, so keep it in the freezer for one hour to completely chill through.

Step 5: Remove from the freezer and give the bottle another good shaking.

Take out the bottle from the freezer and give it another vigorous shake until you start to see the frozen blended consistency reappear.

Step 6: Open the bottle, pour into a glass, and enjoy!

After 3 hours, it’s finally time to enjoy your frozen frappuccino! Serve out of a glass, reusable Starbucks cup, or drink straight from the bottle. If you do skip the glass, I recommend using a butter knife to mix around the frappuccino inside the bottle for better consistency throughout.

It really doesn’t get any easier than that, friends! Top with whipped cream or your favorite syrup drizzle. Then grab a cute pool float and head for the pool to relax and sip on the easiest Starbucks drink hack ever.

YUMMM!! This sounds great! I love the coffee flavor (green bottle) – it is so smooth and addicting. <3

  2. Bunny

They are on sale at Costco now. Believe it comes out to less than a dollar per bottle!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the helpful suggestion, Bunny! Good to know!

  3. Donna

Sams Club has a 15 pk for $16.98. So, $1.13 each.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up, Donna!

  4. Chris

Love this idea, especially when the bottles are on sale! I also discovered that my local Walmart has Frozen Bean Frappe Blends for $1.25/each, they make 2 servings per package and taste just like the frapps at SB. You just add ice and milk to the mix, blend and serve. It’s been a huge money saver in my house.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing with us, Chris! I’ll have to look for those!

  5. Patti

These are really sweet. I never realized that. Almost too much.

  6. rlene

I do this everytime when it’s super hot weather.

  7. Trineke

Make sure you freeze them standing up or they can and will explode. In fact, I’ve had one break in an hour while it was standing up. Just be aware it’s an issue.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Thank you so much for the warning and tip!

    • SueJo

The one time I tried this, I put mine in a freezer bag to contain the mess just in case it burst.

    • rochellemcgee

Thanks! I know I’ll never have the foresight to make a 3 hour frapp in the freezer.

    • Sam

Next time add little heavy cream and coffee mate French vanilla.

Too bad I haven’t seen any with almond milk😩

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

They do sell the Starbucks bottled fraps with Almond Milk! I’ve gotten them a few times, but I’ve only seen them at convenience stores so far.

      • LaTanza

If you have a Publix grocery store in your area. They have the ones with almond milk.

A few years ago I found this mix at Walmart called Frozen Bean Frappe Blends. I get the Caramel macchiato flavor then blend with some coffee, ice and a little Torani caramel syrup. Top with whipped cream and caramel sauce…and boom baby. Starbucks at home. 😎

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Sounds delicious, Deanna! Thanks for commenting!

    • Tide

      Wish these came in decaf!😞

  11. Sameer

So what you are saying is… I have to plan 4 hours ahead to drink this… I could just blend it with some ice you know?

    • Britt

I did all the steps and mine froze completely lol
