Whiter Teeth + Less Mess = A Serious Charcoal Toothpaste Win!
Charcoal is in just about everything now.
We’ve been seeing it pop up in skin cleansers, deodorant, and even toothpaste. But have you actually tried smearing the stuff across your teeth? It’s pretty much a scene straight out of a nightmare. I have been following Hip2Save since 2009 and I am thankful for it. It makes sense that the website is being run as a business and aims to make money. How else will they be able to pay for their employees, operating costs such as their computers, etc. I just have to remember the phrase “buyer beware” and to continue using my own brain to determine whether a deal is truly a good deal or if a post makes sense or otherwise. There may be snarky responses to my comment, but I will still love Hip2Save!

Do you use this toothpaste every time you brush your teeth or should it only be used occasionally?
I like it but don’t use it everyday because I hear it can cause tooth sensitivity. Don’t know if this is a fact but I already have sensitive teeth so I don’t risk it
I think it’s based on your own personal level of sensitivity. I used this toothpaste every day for the entirety of the tube and never found any issues with my teeth developing a sensitivity to it. Hope that helps!
I’m not sure of this product, but just fyi, I would recommend when using any charcoal product, only using 1x week. There is no clinical professional studies and charcoal can be pretty abrasive on your enamel. -friendly dental hygienist
There’s nothing wrong with charcoal being used for brushing teeth. Africans, before they were invaded and colonized by white people used charcoal for their teeth, and they had extremely white, clean and healthy teeth. Toothpastes, unless herbal are usually loaded with chemicals your body does not need.

Turmeric powder mixed with water or milk does an amazing job of whitening your teeth. It’s a bit messy but it works after one time. You can find it in the spice isle.

Brushing the teeth 🦷 as a paste?
I come from a family that works in the dental field — General Dentist, and Periodontist. Charcoal is NOT recommended for usage anywhere on the body. It will strip the skin of the good oils we need, and it’ll make your gums thin out over time.
So, if this is a sponsored post, please state it in your post. Because this is something you shouldn’t be recommending to your readers. Anything charcoal is just a marketing hype.
I bought this Crest toothpaste at Costco. No noticeable whitening after brushing twice daily for the past month.
Aren’t there laws that bloggers need to disclose when they are doing sponsored posts? This does read like an advertisement and reminds me I need to spend less time checking Hip2Save.
I use Primal Life Organics Black Peppermint tooth powder. I don’t think it’s messy, but I don’t have kids and I brush over the kitchen sink before I get dressed. Commercially prepared toothpastes were making my dental issues worse. When I stopped using Crest or Colgate my tooth health improved. The toothpastes you get at drugstores usually contain ingredients like propylene glycol which is also a type of antifreeze. I also do oil pulling with coconut oil. Fluoride is a neurotoxin (yes, there are medical studies that support this statement, and no, I’m not posting them here — you can do your own research and decide what’s best for you) and can cause thyroid dysfunction, bladder cancer and other types of issues.

I’ve been using Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal for over a month and have seen no visual difference in the color of my teeth. I’m going back to Crest White Strips – I did see results pretty quickly from the strips. I would chalk this toothpaste up to a gimmick, it didn’t work for me.
I have this and use it every other day.. I like it a lot, since it has a little grit, it gives you a very clean feeling after brushing.
Also, the best part, they sell it at Costco… in bulk, so your not paying a God awful amount for only one tube!
I totally agree, Joanna! My teeth felt extra fresh when using this paste! I’m a notoriously hard brusher though so I made sure to ease up on the pressure so that it wouldn’t be too intense along my gum line.
