does anyone know how overage works at kmart? will they adjust the coupon down or will they give you the overage? Or do they even let you use the coupons if it exceeds the amount?

    • Bailey

no overages at k-mart, but you can buy 2 same items to get $3 off on both items.

      • Debra

I got overage today at Kmart with my $3 coupon after purchasing the Snuggle for $2.50. Kmart totally came thru for me today. I am very pleased!

      • ken c

I got overage yesterday there too. I used $2 off Post to score free raisin bran..23 cents overage. I did not try the snuggle there because at my store the bottle on sale was 28 loads and the coupon stated 32 loads or higher. Did get it for .99 at my local grocery store though.

  2. Christa

I’ve got a $10 cat that I need to use at Kmart by the 1st of April. Anyone have any scenarios. I don’t regularly shop there.
    Thanks!

  3. Stacy

I tried pulling up the snuggle coupon on red plum and it isn’t showing up 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It’s from this week’s red plum insert, not online.

  4. Candice

The Snuggle coupon was in my newspaper RP section this morning. Hope that helps!

  5. katey

that awesome!!! i wonder how can I get $1 money maker.. does kmart will give me cash or G card?

    • What?

They won’t give you the money back. You have to buy something else and get the credit on it or you lose the overage

      • katey

        ok thanks!!!

  6. Melissa

Can’t you price match at walmart or target? Thats the way I’ll be going 🙂

    • Bailey

I was thinking the same thing! I’m also taking CVS ad to price match the Tropicana OJ. I’m planning on B1G1 coupon & $1/1 (just $1ea).

    • Brittany

Lincolnton, NC Walmart wouldn’t do both. It would do either the price match OR the coupon.

  7. Sandy

THANKS for the heads up ! I need it to go with all the purex laundry soap i recently purchased LOL

  8. Nonna Beach

This is a great deal ! I posted it the other too day. Our KMART prices down to the purchase price ( In this case $5.00 for 2 ) on items and you also have to pay the tax. Been loving your blog for a long time !!! Thanks, Nonna

  9. AMBER M.

Dont give kmart your money price match at target are walmart!!!!!

  10. Erin

Kmart’s so not worth free fabric softener. (Heresy! I can’t believe I said that!) There will be another deal before the coupon expires. Also, I found Tag books on clearance at Walmart for $7.99 – $3 Q = $4.99. I got it lower using other coupons that offered overage.

    • Erin

I knew it would be free elsewhere! I just saw it at Food Lion for $2.99! And the sale runs til 4/10, so there should be plenty of time for everyone with a FL to get it.

  11. Q~Queen

Sorry I am lost, why price match at Target or Walmart? Is it to get the overage because I though the coupon will still beep even at Target or Walmart. Can’t I just buy 7 bottles of Snuggles and give them 6 coupons?? Please help! Thanks.

    • Erin

Because a lot of people are mad that Kmart refused to honor the $10/$20 purchase coupon that was on their site a while back. Other reasons? No overage and/or the bottle they carry may not be the right size.

  12. Clippin' with Carie

I don’t know about you, but my coupon says 32 load and a 64 oz is only 28 loads.

    • CashInCache

That’s what I was thinking. And even if it doesn’t beep, the coupon clearly states the load size/sheet count it is to be used for.

    • Angie

it went through fine at my kmart this morning and I got four

  13. Cecilia

Kmart bottles are 26 loads but the coupon does not beep. They do not have larger bottles. HTH.

  14. nanette

for those in chicago this is a MM scenario

buy 8 bottles of snuggle 2.50ea
    buy 2 tag books 8.99ea
    total =37.99
use 10/20 pdf kmart coupon expires 5/22 available only for chicago store
down to 27.99 then use 7 of the 3Q snuggle and 2 of the 3Q for the tag books
    total=.99+tax

I mean .99 cents for 8 bottles of snuggle and 2 tags books!!!

  15. krystle

I went to Kmart trying to use that 10/20 coupon and they said it was a fake..so good luck trying to use that coupon

    • MoKeaton

It’s good in select stores, just not for the rest of us! So in Chicago,it’s good.

  16. Lori

I went to Kmart yesterday and discovered they had all clearanced shoes, toys and games for an additional 50% off! We stocked up on Christmas gifts and shoes for our girls at some awesome deals!

  17. Alysen

JUST PRICE MATCH AT WALMART OR TARGET!!!

  18. Amy

Sorry Collin, not setting foot in Kmart…even for free Snuggle! haha 🙂

  19. Ann Dee

I like how you stated that we’re not all fans of K-mart. I have tried to shop there a couple times recently and am not impressed. But thanks for posting it anyway. Will try again on April 1st with double coupons week.

    • MoKeaton

Double coupons doesn’t start until April 4th. Just a heads up, in case you planned on going the 1st.

  20. brenda

I want to price match but don’t see either Tag book or Snuggle in the flyer this week. So how do we price match it?

    • Erin

Snuggle’s in the ad–inside back cover. It’s small.

  21. Andrea

No overage at kmart. I was 7 coupons from being done with overage and older lady walks up and takes over. She was rude and lectured me on one coupon per purchase!! I have never couponed at kmart and won’t again. I LOVE getting lectured on how to use coupons. Oh well I got it free and that is what I wanted but overage would have been nice. On a side note they have a bunch of cereal on sale for 1.75 (raisin bran, hunny bunches of oats, etc. and bumble bee tuna for .79. (these were my fillers for the overage) I only got the tuna because we needed it!

    • OiOi

Did you see that Wallet Pop blog article “Who uses coupons most and least, and why” by Tom Barlow the other day?
Here’s a clip from his article:
“Coupons are a time-tested strategy for building business, but this study suggests that a store that prints coupons but does not train its staff to treat users as valued, admired customers is shooting itself in the foot.”
      https://www.walletpop.com/blog/2010/03/24/who-uses-coupons-most-and-why/

It was interesting, and little disappointing to know who doesn’t use coupons and why they don’t.

  22. GeeNeen Brown

I got 8 bottles of Snuggle today and used the overage toward a Littlest Pet shop toy for my daughter!! Way cool!

  23. rebecca

I am in CA and it is not in our insert???? Anyone else have this problem?

    • Karen

I am in CA also. I did get it in my LA Times Red Plum, but the one I got on Wed. in the mail was a little bit different and didn’t have it.

      • Karen

I didn’t get my CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, or Kmart ads though.

    • Amber

Here in CA you must buy the higher market paper, (LA Times), not Press Enterprise, Californian, etc, in order to get the higher $2.50 and $3.00 coupons. The inserts will look mostly the same, but you will often notice that the really high coupons are missing in the lower market paper. The problem as stated above is that you only receive the ads of stores in your zip code so you won’t get all of the store ads. It’s a catch-22, but I find it better to buy the higher market paper and just look up the ads online.

  24. Julie

I’m with the rest of you, not going near Kmart even for freebies! I’m taking my Kmart sales paper to Wal-Mart and getting the Snuggle and the cheap Candyland game ($3.99) and the Baby Alive doll ($14.99 minus the $5 printable). Heck yes! I love that Wal-Mart price comps, too bad for Kmart.

  25. maria

I saw snuggle in the Jax.Fla, food lion circular for 3.99- Still not too bad,,,, 99cent ea,- Ill NEVER shop at Kmart

  26. Danielle Miller

I won’t mess with Kmart anymore either. It’s not worth the time and frustration. They never have the deals at my store that others post, and if it’s in the ad, they’re always out of it. Better to just price match elsewhere. Kmart sucks! I was one of the few that rushed out and was able to use that 10 off of 20 coupon before they pulled it. Even with that, it took me a long time to find enough things in the store that were priced well enough that I wanted to get. Even though I wasn’t attempting to use coupons other than the one, it just wasn’t any fun to shop there.

    • Erin

Glad someone else thinks so, too. Although I run around to pick up various deals, I do not think it’s worth my time to search through nasty Kmarts for the few reasonably priced items they have (that may or may not be in stock), which is also why I wasn’t too excited nor disappointed by their $10/$20 coupon. I couldn’t even imagine finding enough reasonably priced items for $20 to even begin to use it. In the past, I’ve popped in for an item here or there, but since there are so many places to get free Snuggle, I don’t need to patronage a chain that has the nerve to tell its customers that the coupons printed from *their* website are counterfeit. I don’t think I’m even bothering with super doubles. Chances are, all the good stuff will be HBA or processed foods anyway. Like I need more!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

no sale at kmart in michigan 🙁

  27. Lori Rimlinger

We didn’t have the snuggle coupons. Maybe next time.

  28. Heather R

my paper didnt have the snuggle Q in it. must have been regional.

    • MoKeaton

You can purchase them on ebay, for a nominal fee. Since the sale is so good this week for snuggle, it seems the prices of the Q’s are a tad higher than normal.

  29. Lauren

I have never price matched before… how does that work?

    • CashInCache

Just take the ad with you to Walmart and show it to the cashier. They’ll adjust the price accordingly. Just make sure you’re price matching the exact same product/load size.

  30. Amy

    Bought 6 bottles (6 * 2.50=15), used 5 coupons (6 * 3 = 15) = 6 bottles free, no beeping

    • Q~Queen

Amy, I assume you did this @Kmart. For me it’s easier at Kmart than Walmart or Target. It’s way more hassle to ask for price match and try to use Coupons on top of that. I habe been told bya manager that they can price match OR use coupon but not both!! That’s my experience at Target and Walmart when trying to price match so it’s frusterating.

  31. Tara

I got 5 bottles of snuggle today and the cashier said, “$1.62” so I swiped my debit card, but the register beeped. He said, “huh, thats what I owe you!” and opened the drawer and handed my the cash! I don’t know if he was supposed to do this, but oh well! lol

  32. Shaheena

Hey–just as an FYI– went to Kroger and got the Snuggle. It was about $3.89, and we had the $3 off coupon from the newspaper. To sweeten the deal, from http://www.kroger.com, we had an electric coupon for $1 off, so we got it for free + overage!!! I’m not sure if the kroger.com coupon loaded to the car was by location or anything, but worth a shot!

I actually won the $5 off coupon from the March Madness on Kroger’s website, so we ended up getting two bags of chips, two Warm Delights 2 packs (had shortcuts/kroger/paper coupons), salsa (free with the two bags of chips), Post Raisin Bran (ended up using the $2 off coupon here because Walgreens didn’t have Raisin Bran, and we don’t like the other cereals), frosting (free with electronic/paper coupons), cake mix, and tortillas (a necessity) and the Snuggle for $6.38 with tax. We were so excited! I’m sure some of you would’ve worked the $5 into the $4 off when you buy 8 deal or whatever it is, but we just didn’t need 8 items for that. Anyway, thought I’d share about the Snuggle! Even at .69 if you didn’t have the $1 off coupon, not a bad deal!

    • Erin

Good for you! And thanks for the update about the Snuggle. I have the e-coupon, too, and I forgot to price it yesterday!

  33. Kathy

I e-mailed Kmart about the 10 off $20 cpn and got a “form” response, basically saying was for only certain cities and it had “come to their attention some unauthorized coupons had been circulated on the internet”. I asked how an unauthorized cpn got on THEIR website, and why, if for certain cities, did it say “valid at ALL Kmart”. Received the SAME form response!! I will go there and use a gift card I have (otherwise they make money off me), but I don’t intend to spend more there.

  34. Kathy

I just mistakenly tried to send my comment to you twice and got the message that “looks like you said that already” – would love to set this up so when KMart sends me the EXACT same response twice they’d get that response!! Thanks for giving me a laugh!!

  35. Gina

On my way to wal mart yeah to price match the biz from big lots and the snuggle from kmart at walmart free detergent and fabric softner. Your the BOMB HIP2SAVE>
    LUV YA COLLIN ;o)

  36. Jenn

my kmart in WA did not have the 2 for $5 sale nor any small bottles. Just saw your post on target so I’ll go there to stock up. Thanks

    • Roxanne

Did your Red Plum have the snuggle coupon in it. I buy the Tacoma News Tribune and I can’t find the coupon.

  37. Dee

So glad I read this thread! I plan on grabbing my K-Mart paper and Price Matching at Target ot WalMart. I have a lot of Snuggle coupons (20+)…. I wont need snuggle for the rest of the year!!

  38. jen

I am not happy with kmart but I think I will go for snuggle I have a large household so cheap or free fabric softner is worth it… Hope it is the right load count though…

  39. MoKeaton

Okay, so the overage would be .50 cents per bottle, if you plan on purchasing 20, then the overage would be $10? So in order for the register to not beep, should those filler items be things you don’t plan on using coupons for, or can you also use coupons on the things you plan on buying as fillers? The whole coupon to item ratio needs to be explained to me a little better I think. LoL 🙂

    • marcia

someone else can correct if I’m wrong… I dont thing Kmart does the item/coupon ratio. I THINK only Walgreens does that ….. I’m pretty sure 😛

  40. kathryn

I went to the RedPlum website to get a coupon but it doesn’t show one for my zip code. If you got a Snuggel coupon, what zip code do you live in?

    • MoKeaton

The Snuggle coupon is in the inserts in the newspaper, not an IP coupon. HTH.

  41. Shirley

I went to Target today to price match the Tag books and use my $5 off $30 Leapfrog Target coupon and then my $3.00 of Tag book Manufacturer coupon. They would not let me use the $5 Target coupon because they said that they can’t price match and use their coupon. They let me use the manufacturer coupons though. I still got a good deal but was really annoyed. Anyone else think this is wrong information?

Oh- also last week I went to buy the Johnson and Johnson Buddies bar with the $1 coupon. They said that they couldn’t alter the coupon amount and adjust it down? I’m really getting annoyed with Target and their ever changing, depends who rings you up rules.

    • Erin

Nope–that’s their new policy since the Alphabet Pal business. Seems reasonable to me–after all, they’re giving the exact same deal you would have gotten at Kmart.

  42. Courtney Brisbane

I think all websites I can usually buy coupons are selling the Snuggle coupons on ebay. They are going for over a dollar each. Its still worth it to me. If any one knows any place cheaper let me know Thanks

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got them on Ebay–paid $6 for 15 of them–they must have gone up in value.

  43. Q~Queen

Can you use overage on a different item or does it have to be the same item on the coupon? Please help.

  44. kendall

I used mine at family dollar kmart said i couldnt use them there but family dollar snuggle softner was $3.75 and dry sheets were $3 for I got bother for $75.yaaaaaa

  45. jane

can you price match this Snuggle deal say at Publix?

  46. Kris

Family Dollar has the sheets, 70 ct boxes for $3…free w/ coupon

  47. Missy

When you price match at Target, can you do it right at the register or do you have to go to customer service? Thanks.
